Resort Hoppin' with Wigd and Shocker! Contests!

Yeah I'm thinking someone knew what they were doing when they mentioned the word Disney/Mickey near you!! LOL!!

I can't wait to see the pictures! SOUNDS FANTASTIC SO FAR!!!
I agree, they knew exactly what they were doing! Pictures are ready!
Hi! I'm still here too! Life has been busy for me as well!
I can't wait to see pics of the birthday celebration! I liked the capic-tea project. That was a great idea. How did the kids like it?
How many days til your next trip? and the next and the next?:lmao::lmao: Only 85 days til mine! I can't wait!:)
The kids really liked the capacitea party!
Birthday celebration coming right up!
Next trip in about 5 weeks, the next one, well, you know that!!
Hi just checking in. I have finally caught up. It's been a mad house here the last month. Sarah started 1st grade and I thought great I'll volunteer in the library and in her class. WEll that turned into being room parent and instead of being at the school one day a week in the library to 4 times a week. 2 in her classroom helping with paperwork that needs put together for the teacher, helping with centers, organizing apple day, pumpkin day. 1 day in the library and 1 day with the ohio reads program.

It's a shame more parents are not able to help out or willing to help out.

Sounds like you had a great trip even if no birthday hoopla. I'm sure just being at disney was all you needed.

Rhonda
Sounds like you are the type of parent that the schools can't do without. Thanks from a teacher!

Being at Disney was a splendid way to spend a birthday!
:lmao:at you and your team - Disney/Mickey theme? They must know you well! Whoever could handle that better than Wigd!?!
It sounds like you did a lot and I can't wait to see pictures!
Pictures are right here!
Looking forward to seeing pictures of your latest creation at school:thumbsup2
Yes!!! You should have brought in trays of cheese for snacks!!

Tracy
If I had more time it would have been better!
Oooh! It sounds like it's going to be great! I look forward to the pics!
The food was great and we even had the Mickey Mouse March!
Looks like a great day at the pool. Photos of Stormalong Bay alone have me pondering how I convince the hubby that we should buy into DVC. Those poor girls... totally reminds me of Toddlers and Tiaras! I mean, I love that little girls can feel like a princess, but they should be able to be little girls too!

I am glad to hear that the Cali meal was delish, even if the wait staff did nothing to celebrate your birthday. Shame on them! If we bring "babysitters" to Disney, I want to try CG one of these days!

I can't wait to see the birthday treats set-up!!
Stormalong Bay is just to die for! If we are ever there at the same time and we are at the Beach Club we'll get you in to swim!
Pictures of the teacher's lounge are up next!
I do my best. :rotfl: Shocker may never agree to meet me at a mall again though.

Caravaning sounds like a brilliant idea. I imagine that one direction I will be making a stop to see some family in Columbia on the way as I have three adorable nieces there..... :goodvibes

Cannot wait to see the pictures of the birthday Mickey extravaganza! Sounds fantastic!

We will plan on driving together to St. Louis. Just let us know when you want to stop in Columbia!
Did you say you wanted to see pictures?

I had a designer on the DIS do the mouse ears with staff members birth dates and names then printed, cut, and glued them on red construction paper. The last thing was laminating that and the Mickey Mouse Club poster that was done with an over head projector pencil and crayons. The costume was another DIS creation from a MNSSHP a couple of years ago.

Anyway, that's it, we had fun!

It turned out great! The food looks YUMMY! I'm hungry now!:) What was the food in the first food pic? The bacon wrapped crackers look good too. Was there cheese on there too? Did you have to make all the snacks?

Yeah, I know when the 2nd trip is!:thumbsup2

You did a great job on the decorations. I am sure that the birthday staff felt special with their own Mickey ears. The food looked wonderful also.

The first picture was some sort of pesto and cream cheese on ritz cracker crust. The bacon wraps have Parmesan cheese in them. Our treat group has six people in it. We each brought two things. So I didn't get everything photographed. There were chips and dips, chex mix and a cobbler that came a bit later.

Thanks, I enjoyed just sitting in there while the kids were out at recess! Neve mind the food that was consumed!

The Mousketeer Birthday Roll Call is great!!! You did a wonderful job decorating, Wigd!!! I wish I worked at your school!

WOWzers!! You did a fantastic job Anita!! What a great birthday display!!!! I'm just amazed!! Like Jackie said I wished I worked at your school!!!! I'm sure it was very much appreciated by the birthday staff!!

Loved the mouseketeer outfit!!!!

All your decorations look great!! Wish I worked there too. You have quite a collection of mouse ears, by the way. I didn't realize there were so many different holiday varieties. Very cool!!

How do you go about getting programs or software or whatever you need to make all those Disney designs? As many Disney parties as we have, we need our own stuff like that, I think. For instance, I would like a big picture of a Mickey and Minnie Thanksgiving for November. I need to do some research.

All of your stuff turned out nicely. I bet there were many smiles. I've been contemplating starting a Mickey ears collection, but haven't taken the plunge yet. I have had only one hat in my 53 years - just the old timey ones that the Mouseketeers wore. Sure wish I had those now, but I'm sure they got smooshed in the bottom of a toy box along the way and thrown out. There are so many cool ones, but I wondered what I would really do with them. I never thought about using them for something like that, but now that I see that, it makes me want to go ahead and start getting them. I'm not getting any younger, so it's now or never, I guess.

The food looks great. I wanted to dip one of those cucumbers right on the spot. Yum! Bacon wrapped crackers sound delicious. I'll have to give them a try. Our group has the October brunch, so I could possibly make those. I usually take the BBQ cocktail weiners that everyone devours, a fruit salad, Chex Mix, and something sweet. That covers a salty, a sweet, a real food, and a fruit. We do love our brunches. :thumbsup2

Great job, DIS friend! I know all the teachers enjoyed it and liked their little keepsake hats, too. :)

What a fun school "birthday" party! We celebrate once a month, but our parties are not that cool! We have a generic sign that listed the people's birthday and we have no decorations, so I'm very impressed! :thumbsup2

Given the chance there are so many Disney themes that could be done, wouldn't it be fun to come up with them?
I'll admit it's a great place to work!

We have such a supportive principal, she really sets the tone of our building! I wish we could do a Disney theme every month, but you know who would be in charge....
Only there is another teacher in the building that does a land and sea every year at the same time we are there in June! She and her DH always stay at the Poly.....
She said she really has no Disney stuff.

I wish I could still wear that outfit, sadly it's too small.

If you are ever down around a holiday be sure to check out the mouse ears! They really do have some cool ones!
Makes me wonder if they have Valentine's Day?:scratchin
Thanks on the decorations! I just started grabbing at home and then turned to the DIS!

Thanks! It made me happy to do it! The food was delicious! You know how the teacher's lounge is, no food gets left behind!!!

Sorry, I was up until 2am putting stickers in a Toy Story 3 sticker book....

I think you might want to go on the Disign thread and ask someone over there about how they go about getting that software.
Some of them are very friendly.:goodvibes

The mouse ears have been a fun collection, they are easy to display as they can by stapled up on a bulletin board or sat around like I did...
I thought about putting them up on shelves in the hallway next to my cork board with our pins as well, (at home).

We usually have a theme, but it's never decorated like that! Believe me I got several comments like "way to go, anything we do now is going to look like cr_p!" Hey, that's what they get when they ask me to do Mickey!
I'll be ready next year! Just wait! None of this two days to prepare like this year.....

Wow Anita!!! :worship: You are the Queen of party planning!!!

Your crackers looked scrumptious!!! Recipe please

Loved all of your ears too!! I didn't realize there were so many too! My niece has cute mortarboard ears from the Wonder....I remember there being a graduation at the end of the kids club that she went to:confused3

Thanks on the party, really it was totally a last minute throw together!
Here's the recipe:
1lb bacon (I like Oscar Meyer) cut down the middle.
Parmesan cheese
town house crackers

lay the crackers on a piece of bacon, top with 1 tsp of cheese, then wrap with bacon.
Bake at 200 for 2 hours. You can speed up the baking time by turning up the oven a little but watch the bacon!

When taking these to school I make the night before then wrap in foil the next morning and reheat.

I know they have graduation ears at Disney World! They probably have them on the cruise too! I'm going to check on cruise ears next time....
