Resort Hoppin' with Wigd and Shocker! Contests!

I'm pretty sure I read on someone's TR that their daughter was doing an Irish dance competition at WDW this summer - so that was probably it. The older girls do wear wigs.

We didn't do the kitchen sink either - although we had 9 people to eat it - I was a mean mom and wouldn't let my kids have ice cream at 10 pm!!

So sorry you didn't get a Happy Birthday from Cali Grill. :( I did see some Mickey sprinkles on the table, though. :flower3: And, your meal looks delish!!! We've never eaten there, but it's on the list for when the girls are older and we can leave them at the babysitting club. :thumbsup2 I think it'd be a nice date night meal.

I am here WigD! Really! I am!!! :lmao: I love Cali Grill too! We have an ADR for November! Can't wait. I have to go back and see what I missed, but I am in shock in regards to that big hair. Holy cow! :goodvibes Maybe I should say Holy curls!

Ooooh - so sorry they didn't do anything for your birthday! That IS disappointing!

At least you looked great at your birthday dinner! ::yes::

And the food does look delicious. I gotta try the pork next time I'm there, it looks just awesome.

Poor girls at the pool not being able to swim! Those are some crazy big wigs, they look so hot and heavy!

Ohhhh that hair!!!! Poor girls!! I am thinking Irish dancers too :confused3
Love the slide at SAB. And the pool. And the drinks by the pool. :thumbsup2
I am really excited for my reservation at CG now. I am sooooo getting that pork and I want it medium well too....pink just freaks me right out

Tracy
I would love a ressie at Cali Grill in my near future, but that's just not going to happen.
Unless Marc is planning a surprise at Christmas...:rolleyes1
I can't even begin to imagine how hot those wigs were!
What a bummer to be at that great pool and unable to get in with those wigs!

Cali looks delicious, but what a shame they didn't do anything for your birthday! :(

I bet you had a blast hanging out with MeMom, Jill, and the gang at Stormalong Bay! So much fun must have been had!
We had a great time at SAB!
Cali was delicious so I'm forgiving them for ignoring my birthday.
I had the girls sit down and do a list of their must-do attractions yesterday. They used their Birnbaum Guides for Kids to pick out the attractions. After the list making was done Alison continued browsing through her book and all of a sudden she shouts out "Oh!!! Scary clown!" It was the clown slide at SAB.
They must have been looking at the Boardwalk pool, that is where the clown lives, just across the lake.
Stormalong has the sand bottom and the cool whirl pools.:goodvibes
What no Kitchen sink when you were soooo close to it :scared1:! The horror of it all.... Heck in July we got there after 8p and waited until almost 10p and closed the place - but that kitchen sink was sooo worth it!! My kids were falling asleep waiting, but perked right up when the brought it out! :rotfl: Can't wait to see what your next view is of!
The next time we are there with MeMom, we will get a kitchen sink!

Irish dancing is fun, we enjoyed it over at Raglan Rd!
No Kitchen Sink? 10pm is the best time for ice cream!

Everyone had Mickey sprinkles on the table, believe me I looked!
You really should try CG when you get the chance!

That is some serious hair! So chance of those curls going anywhere....
It's been busy with school starting for me too.:goodvibes

Brook, you must try that pork, I had heard rave reviews and it did not disappoint!
I felt bad for those girls hanging out by the pool on such a hot day and not able to get all the way in the water!

Just a funny story.

It's my treat groups turn to birthday treats for the month at school. We decide on a theme and decorate the lounge as well.
Well, we were kicking around ideas and I said, "well how about football?"
my teammate being quite smart suggested Mickey Mouse or something Disney since it has never been done before...
So guess who took over the whole thing?

Do you think they knew what they were doing when they suggested Mickey/Disney? :rotfl2:

What's up with the big hair little people convention? The one blonde haired girl with the glasses looks like she is going to puke.

What is worse than not being able to visiting SAB.......Why its actually visiting SAB but not being able to get wet!!!!!!

All caught up on your updates and loving them all. I did not realize you actually stayed in 3 different resorts.

Yummy dinner at Cali Gril. Love the shirt you are wearing - so pretty.

Love the Electric light parade pics!

I think the conversation in the teachers' lounge was something like this:

How can we get Wigd to just do it all?

Eyes opened wide,
Mouse ears were discussed,
and they all knew they could just sit back and relax.
Their part was done.

(I might have prior knowledge of such an event. Our November brunch last year could have had Thanksgiving Mickey and Minnie in attendance in the table center. :rolleyes1)

You will have to show us pictures. :)

We were the resort hoppers and actually were supposed to go on to Saratoga but managed to get the remainder of our nights at the Boardwalk so decided to unpack and relax!
Honestly it was way too much moving...

I felt sorry for those big haired girls, many were with families all enjoying the pool, well all but them.

I'm trying my best to stay caught up over here, sorry for my lack of comments!
Hi Leslie! I'm sure you are having a time catching up after your trip! I'll forgive your lack of comments, I'm just glad you are still hanging around!
:lmao: Too funny about the Disney theme! I think they knew exactly what they were doing! ;)
Yes, I believe they knew exactly what they were doing and with just two days to prepare....
I didn't do as much as I would have if I had more time.

2. Got some mouse ears done on the disign thread with name and bday
3. Took three Jim Shore Mickey and Minnie pieces
4. Took large Minnie and Mickey
5. Took Mouseketeer Costume
6. Took pook a looz Mickey and Minnie
7. Took mouse ears collection for tables
8. Wall says " Mouseketeer Birthday Roll Call"
I'll take pictures in the morning.

Well, it was all very last minute. It's been very crazy around here....
I'm still cooking because I have to take snacks as well! It should have been cheese!:rotfl2:

Yeah I'm thinking someone knew what they were doing when they mentioned the word Disney/Mickey near you!! LOL!!

I can't wait to see the pictures! SOUNDS FANTASTIC SO FAR!!!

Hi! I'm still here too! Life has been busy for me as well!
I can't wait to see pics of the birthday celebration! I liked the capic-tea project. That was a great idea. How did the kids like it?
How many days til your next trip? and the next and the next?:lmao::lmao: Only 85 days til mine! I can't wait!:)

Hi just checking in. I have finally caught up. It's been a mad house here the last month. Sarah started 1st grade and I thought great I'll volunteer in the library and in her class. WEll that turned into being room parent and instead of being at the school one day a week in the library to 4 times a week. 2 in her classroom helping with paperwork that needs put together for the teacher, helping with centers, organizing apple day, pumpkin day. 1 day in the library and 1 day with the ohio reads program.

It's a shame more parents are not able to help out or willing to help out.

Sounds like you had a great trip even if no birthday hoopla. I'm sure just being at disney was all you needed.

Rhonda

:lmao:at you and your team - Disney/Mickey theme? They must know you well! Whoever could handle that better than Wigd!?!
It sounds like you did a lot and I can't wait to see pictures!

Looking forward to seeing pictures of your latest creation at school:thumbsup2
Yes!!! You should have brought in trays of cheese for snacks!!

Oooh! It sounds like it's going to be great! I look forward to the pics!

Looks like a great day at the pool. Photos of Stormalong Bay alone have me pondering how I convince the hubby that we should buy into DVC. Those poor girls... totally reminds me of Toddlers and Tiaras! I mean, I love that little girls can feel like a princess, but they should be able to be little girls too!

I am glad to hear that the Cali meal was delish, even if the wait staff did nothing to celebrate your birthday. Shame on them! If we bring "babysitters" to Disney, I want to try CG one of these days!

I can't wait to see the birthday treats set-up!!

You are great at enabling though!.

I do my best. :rotfl: Shocker may never agree to meet me at a mall again though.

Caravaning sounds like a brilliant idea. I imagine that one direction I will be making a stop to see some family in Columbia on the way as I have three adorable nieces there..... :goodvibes

Cannot wait to see the pictures of the birthday Mickey extravaganza! Sounds fantastic!
