Resort Hoppin' with Wigd and Shocker! Contests!

Sorry about the surgery. I missed the news in Spring. How did you break it?

I'm so sorry about the surgery but glad it is getting dealt with. HUGE bummer about the rag on the counter. :(

I must have missed the whole break/surgery ordeal about yours shoulder, I'm so sorry to hear that! But, I'm sure it will hold more relief on the other side, so it's worth it. My prayers are with you!

Major bummer about the counter! I hope it comes out properly.

Will be praying for a safe surgery!!!! I hope all goes well with the physical therapy afterwards also!!!

Good luck getting into your room! I won't be able to get into mine until August 9th at the earliest! I can't wait I'm very excited for this upcoming school year!!!

OOOH...sorry to hear about the delays finishing up the remodel! I'm sure it will look fantastic when it's all done!

Hey WigD - it will work out alright in the end I am sure. Your counter tops do sound really neat! I also know that my husband had a break on his clavical, back a few years ago from sledding. They did surgery, with a pin, and now it is good as new. I am sure it won't be fun, but you'll be on the mend soon. Take it easy. Your classroom will grow in time, don't press yourself to have everything just so.. you will make it the warm and fun place it is I am sure :goodvibes not everything on the walls :goodvibes

I think you just need to make a short visit to my house. You will feel much better about your house when you leave.

Oh No! This doesn't sound good. Perhaps we should have a contest for ugliest kitchen. Sounds like I may have some competition here! :rotfl:

Wigd -

Sorry to hear about the surgery on Monday. Oh My! I hope all goes well. I know that surgery can be painful initially, but have really good results. I wish you the best and hope everything goes as smoothly as possible.

Bummer about the rag being left on the counter. That stinks!

Sad to say, we can compete strongly in the kitchen and bathroom categories.

And in the flooring division, I wonder if anyone can beat having the original green shag carpet (in a 30 yr. old house) running down the hallway and into the bedrooms. :rolleyes1

Yeah, I would say you have some pretty stiff competition. ;)

I watch HGTV, and all of those perfectly good things they are tearing out of places - cabinets, counters, carpets, etc. - I am talking to the TV aloud saying, "Bring them to me!" :rotfl:

I keep spending my money on Disney trips, though, and it's an either/or situation, so Disney keeps winning.

Wigd - Don't work your weekend completely away. Have some fun in it, too, before school gets in full swing. I know Marc will be a big help. You've got a good fella there! I hope this surgery will have you back feeling so well you can pitch a mean fastball or do an Olympic quality breaststroke in that cool pool of yours. :thumbsup2

If we all lived close together in DIStown, we'd be bombarding you with casseroles and taking turns vacuuming your floors! We'll be with you in thought and prayer, though, from all around the world. :goodvibes

Wishing you a quick recovery!!
You're in my thoughts

And I agree with HD. Your classroom will grow throughout the year. Don't stress yourself this weekend and try to do everything.

Short update of sorts here...

We have stalled on the countertop.
A wet rag got left on the unfinished counter and it left a mark.
We made a tactical error by sanding and applying new sticky stuff and more color chips.

Now trying to sand again....

The rest of the counter tops look very nice and are just waiting for the final coat...
UGH!

So I'm stuck w/o a sink in the kitchen until this is resolved.

More news.

Ugh is right! Hope those countertops and kitchen are finished soon for you. :goodvibes

I'm having surgery on my shoulder Monday morning. Physical therapy will begin on Tuesday.
This is all due to the break that happened just after spring break.
If we are FB friends you already know.

I will be thinking of you on Monday!!!

I'll be working nonstop at school from now through the weekend to get my room arranged and ready for the year to begin.
We report back on August 10th and our first day with students will be August 16th.
So much to do in so little time!

I know the feeling -- we go back the 4th and students return on the 9th.

I want to live in DIStown!!! :lmao::rotfl::rotfl2:

I want to live in DIStown!!! :lmao::rotfl::rotfl2:

I could be persuaded to move there!

Anita, I'm so sorry that you are going to need surgery on your shoulder, I hope everything goes smoothly and you have a quick recovery

That stinks about the countertops, I hope it's an easy fix.........

I want to live in DIStown!!! :lmao::rotfl::rotfl2:

Me too!!!

I could be persuaded to move there!

We know we'd have plenty of teachers to produce a rockin' awesome school. :teacher:

What other jobs can our DIS friends cover?
We'll need a grocery store and a doctor.
A barber shop.
A church.
Definitely a pharmacy/soda shop combo.
I'm trying to think what Mayberry had.

Although I hope we won't need the jail. :upsidedow

So, the question of the day is: What can you do for DIStown? :)

I can be the DIStown medical assistant when I finish school. :rotfl2:

I will keep DIS town outfitted with grey goose slushies! :) Every town needs a watering hole!

Anita- don't work yourself into a frenzy this weekend. Take some breaks. I'll be thinking of you Monday. Hope you or Marc will update us when you can. :goodvibes

Boy what a lot on your plate right now. Take a deep breath. I'm sure every thing will get done in time. I'm so sorry you have surgery and more therapy. Hopefully when it's all done you'll be better off. Try not to work too hard and we'll be thinking about you.

Thinking of you! I hope school set up goes smoothly, the kitchen finishes up with wonderful results and that Monday's surgery brings much relief!

Take some time to enjoy that beautiful pool
