These are my two options that I need to choose from.
1)POFQ for 8 nights (my favorite resort,BTW)

2)4 night POP,and 4 night WL (woods view)

The second option is $200 more total, but I have never stayed at either of these and I am bound to try them all at least once :) !!

I have always stayed at moderates with the exception of AKL, which I don't want to go back to (for our own reasons, not a problem there)!!

Please help me decide! Is it easier to have a moderate stay, or have a 1/2 value and 1/2 deluxe stay (which equals a moderate stay  )
Any advise either way is appreciated!!

We usually resort hop when we go to WDW. Its part of the fun to us to experience a different resort. We usually ask for a late check out so we can sleep in and lounge at the 1st resort before switching over. It takes alot out of you if you get up early and go to a park and then switch over resorts.
When we check in we explore the new resort and take pictures!

We are also trying out Wilderness Lodge this trip! Looking forward to it!

Try for room 5018 or lower (the numbers go up towards the parking lot) on the 5th floor for a good view of the Castle. But, how much would it be to do 6 nights at POFQ and 2 at WL? We also love POFQ, and so far have found none of the other moderates better. The only things that keep WL even are the view from rm 5018, the boat to MK, the restaurants (AP and WC), and the Cubs Den.

We always resort hop when we go for a long trip. In the past we stayed at ASMo or ASSp before heading over the VWL. After the last trip to ASMo, just don't want to stay at value again. There is nothing wrong with the value resorts. Didn't have a bad experience, everything was clean, good service, etc. It just doesn't work for our family.

That being said, we love WL. We didn't have a problem with noise (some say it is noisy). So if you can stay there, I say go for it. Our first deluxe stay was at AKL and after that, DH decided he like the deluxe hotels and bought in to DVC so we could stay at the deluxes using points.

I really think it depends on what you want out of a hotel. We like to spend part of the vacation sleeping in, using the pools, renting boats, riding the monorail, touring other resorts. We don't go to parks every day. So, facilities and convenience are important to us. We like the convenience of being able to walk out of WL and take a boat to the Contemporary, ride the monorail, go to FW and visit the petting zoo or the campfire.

I've heard others say it is wonderful at POFQ and they wouldn't stay anywhere else. We are going to stay at POR for the first time in June.

Don't know if I was much help, but wherever you decide to stay, you will have a wonderful time since you are at Disney.

We love POFQ and would not hesitate to stay there, BUT....I would hop. We always do. They make it so easy for you. The only thing you have to do is go check in at the other resort. If your room is not ready then they give you a card with a number to call to get your room number, but you still have your keys and can room charge any time after check in.They will move your bags for you-come get them right from the room. It is great to try different places, then you know where you really want to stay in the future. Besides going from a value to a deluxe would just be a great treat!

DH & I love to resort hop! The past two years we have split our stay between the WL & AKL. This year we will be splitting between POFQ & the Poly. Trying out the different resorts is half the fun for us! We stayed at POFQ a few years ago and had a nice stay. We haven't been to the Poly since our honeymoon 30 years ago so we are really looking forward to staying there again! :love2:

We are splitting our stay between POP and WL this year.

In October we stayed at POP and POFQ - to be honest we preferred POP, so we're going back. I like the sound of WL and it's location, so we're also finishing off our stay by going there for 4 nights. The plan is whilst at POP(10 nights), we'll spend more time at Epcot, MGM and AK and we'll spend most of the time at MK and exploring WL and FW on the last 4 days.

Looks like everyone is voting for hopping!! All of my previous stays were at one resort, so I think it would be a great change for us!I look forward to it now.
Thanks everyone :goodvibes

I am thinking about doing this for my May trip. Stay at POP for the first 4 nights and then stay at a moderate or deluxe for the second 4 nights. If you are moving from a value to a mod or deluxe, people tell me that you should do the value resort first then the other one.

This Aug DS & I are staying 5nights at Pop, 3nights at WL and 6nights at Beach Club Villas
While at Pop we'll go to Downtown Disney for dinner, Disney Quest 1 of the days, AK another and Typhoon Lagoon
While at WL we'll go to MK of course
and then while at BCV we'll go to EpCot & MGM

we have resort hopped in the past but only 2 resorts ea time
