I need advice on where to stay on our upcoming trip. My mom and I are taking my two kids and I need help picking a resort. We just back from the beach with 2double beds, and that option is DEFINTELY out!! The 2 rooms are also out, because it would be a nightly fight over who would sleep where.
We currently have reservations at CR-TPV, but it looks so cold and I am second guessing that decision. I would love to stay at the Poly, but have read that it's undergoing reno's and I don't want to have to take the kids to another pool or listen to hammering. Another option is AoA suite, obviously the most affordable and the most room, but it's so far from MK. I would also like to stay at WL, but the rooms seem small.
I am looking for a place that my mom will feel comfortable hanging out in, if she doesn't want to go to the park with us one day.

Thanks for any advice!!

how about a 2-bedroom villa at BLT (next door to CR and closer to the MK)

there is also one at VWL, BCV, BWV, AKV, OKW, SSR

you would get a king bed, 2 queen beds (or queen bed and doulbe sleeper sofa) - in the livingroom area - queen sleeper sofa, chair bed

so it sleep 9.

full kitchen, 3 bathrooms, landry room/closet

you can a reservation from a DVC member to save you money.

I don't know if you'll be able to get one, but a Deluxe room at the Wilderness Lodge could be an option. They sleep 6, so they're bigger than standard rooms.

You could also consider a cabin at Fort Wilderness. The bedroom has a full bed and bunkbeds, and the living room has a murphy bed, so everyone could have their own bed.
There's a boat to the Magic Kingdom and another that stops at the Wilderness Lodge and Contemporary.
I'm not sure that the travel time would be much less than it would be to take a bus from AoA, since the cabins aren't the most convenient to the boat dock or bus stop.
If I was taking my Mom on a trip, I would probably stay in a cabin, because I think she would enjoy staying there more than anywhere else.

I thought about the cabins, but I wasn't sure if my mom would feel too isolated if she were by herself. It also doesn't seem very convenient to go get something to eat.

I've never stayed at a Villa but that would be a great option. The AoA suites would be my choice. Doesn't look too far from MK and close to Downtown if your mom would get a bus to go there to walk around, while your at the parks. Good Luck. :thumbsup2

I'd move to the Poly or a Deluxe Room at WL

I have always found the CR full of energy. Like the pulse of WDW. With the monorail running through, plus shops and restaurants.

We also love the Poly.

A regular room at WL is very cramped compared to either the CR or Poly. DD & I stayed there just the 2 of us and felt like it was so small
