So next month if we take our cups to the resort we got them they will no longer honor life-time cups?

Honestly, I think they definitely would.

I'm going to be staying at Pop Century twice in one month later this year, so I've decided to buy a travel mug one stay and the other kind the second stay. It looks like a good deal to me- diet coke lovers unite!

I guess I look at it from the viewpoint that if you don't agree to the conditions under which something is sold, you have the freedom not to buy, not the freedom to change the rules for yourself. I'm sure there are a multitude of ways of looking at any given situation in life though :flower:

In a way, the rule of one mug per stay solves a dilemma for someone as indecisive as me - I would have spent half a day trying to decide which to get! :rotfl2:

It never ceases to amaze me how many ways people find to justify doing something they know is wrong :( When you buy the mug it means you agree to follow the rules Disney has for their use. Geeze people, it is in writing, why should we need pop police for people to get it?

The mugs state that they are good for LOS at the resort purchased. So when I go to Disney later this year and stay at two different resorts (11 straight days) and ask a CM about using the mug purchased at the first resort when I'm at the second one and they say it is okay...am I breaking the rules? My guess is this stuff isn't written in stone. It's Disney and for reasonable requests, etc. I'm sure Disney will accomodate. For example, staying at the same resort Jun, Jul and Aug, they may say go ahead and reuse your mug, however if your stays are a year apart, then they will probably say buy another mug. It seems to me that the posts that say 'buy a new mug no matter what' are getting caught up in "rules" and forgetting that it's Disney!

Are there pictures of the resort mugs somewhere?I am resort hopping to FQ,AKL,and BWI and would like to buy one as a souvenier since I am not a big soda drinker but I would like to see what they all look like before I buy one.
Thanks!!! :)

Agreed.

No one here ever speeds, not to work, not even to WDW. Well speeding is breaking the Rules and you can kill others. So all you Rules are Rules people look at your self before passing judgment on others.

So lets see 2 wrongs make a right. Actually I try very hard to not speed. I have several friends that died in car accidents due to speeding and tickets are expensive.

Rules are there for a purpose. Some choose to ignore them for their own benefit. Others choose not to. Others obviously follow some rules but ignore others.

It is a personal choice as to whether one does the right thing or not. But please do not insult our intelligence by implying we don't know the difference or that it does not matter. Personally I think it is more about being cheap.

WOW, someone (probably an existing memeber) registered a new username just for this post. :rotfl2:

My guess is that they just don't care. Yes, they are going to say you have to buy a new mug. They want as much revenue as possible. Has anyone EVER seen this policy enforced? My last trip I stayed in 3 different resorts and saw people drinking out of mugs from various resorts. Not me, I bought 3 new ones at each place eventhough I had more at home just like them. I'm not buying one more mug. If Disney was as concerned about coke theft as some of the posters here, they would change the mugs once in awhile. You could refill your mug 200 times and Disney would still make money on the cup. I'm not too concerned with Disney's finanical status, but if they want me to come back, they better be concerned about mine. I've spent about 300.00 for mugs and we rarely eat in the food court and with the addition of refrigerators in the rooms - I'm done. Which ever resort we stay next time, I'm taking my mugs. :firefight

So now were on to blaming Disney for the mug problems. No one is forcing you to buy a mug. Like I said, you can justify anything if you want to. Just don't post here and expect people to applaud you for being dishonest. :rolleyes1

Trying to justify one wrong act by citing another is kind of avoiding the issue. Whether people speed or don't speed in no way justifies taking drinks one isn't entitled to.

Having said that, I'll admit I don't care if someone runs a garden hose from the soda machine to their room in order to get free drinks. I'm not judging anyone, but I don't think the posters who point out what the "right" thing is are wrong in doing so. However, I don't work for Disney and I'll leave it to them to enforce or not enforce their own rules.

We buy them every trip whether they change designs or not, because you are supposed to and anything else is wrong.

My husband uses them when we get back for his coffee on his way to work every morning so it is worth it. We also use them all the time at the resort.

I LOVE the fast food analogy. So I suppose all you repeat mug users ARE, in fact, holding on to those used Taco Bell and Burger King cups and refilling them when you go back.

By the way, I DO speed! But that is not the issue here is it?
