Friends of ours are going on a Disney Cruise but their flight home doesn't depart until 10:30pm. They were thinking of booking a room at one of the value resorts for the day, hanging out there, and then taking DME to the airport that night. Has anyone done this? Will the resorts allow you to checkin/checkout on the same day? Thanks!

WDW doesn't offer day rooms but it is possible to book for the night when they disembark and just check out that evening. But check in isn't until 4:00 and they aren't guaranteed of being able to get into the room earlier. They could always drop luggage with bell services and enjoy the pool until the room is ready, then just get cleaned up in the room until their DME pick up time.

But I'd suggest instead for your friends to look into a day room at the Hyatt MCO. They could take the DCL transfers to the airport. By booking a day room there, they'd definitely have access to a room earlier in the day.

ALso, they would pay for the DCL transfer to the resort, at $35pp each, versus paying the same to go to MCO and hanging out with a day room at the Hyatt. Or, rent a car at PC for return at MCO and hang out in Cocoa Beach or at KSC.

Good point about possibly not being able to get into the room until 3pm. I'll let them know about the Hyatt option. Thanks!!

Good idea about renting a car and hanging at Cocoa Beach for the day!

I would also consider doing a day at one of the water parks. They could get there early, grab some chairs in a good spot and hang out all day.
