(Bill changed his comment after he read mine.)
Correct, you only pay the fee when using your points to book outside of the DVC if you were allowed to do so.Bill
FYI- I pay this in addition to my exchange fee. It is marked separate- as a resort fee. The $95 you refer to outside of DVC is the "exchange fee" in essence, correct?
In waiting for ROFR. In meantime, question popped in head. When I trade into DVC via RCI, I pay a $95 resort fee for the week. I do not pay this as a DVC owner correct?
If you are trading into a DVC resort using an exchange from another timeshare, you WILL need to pay the $95 resort fee even though you are a DVC member. That fee is charged by DVC for all RCI exchanges and there is no relief even if you are a DVC member. You will be able to use most DVC discount programs by showing your DVC Membership card, but not pool hopping or TOTWL access since you are not staying using your DVC points or member cash for your reservation.

Btw- what is Totwl? Is that top of the world at Bay lake? If so- what's that all about? That's where I'm buying. Still a newbie!
In reality the RCi fee does not provide anything that is not paid for by the member and/or provided by Disney for guests on property. It's simply a fee because they can.Thank you- yes, I meant staying on DVC points, but good clarification. Btw- for what it's worth, I was allowed to pool hop even when trading in through RCI (and I was not a DVC member).
