Did the guard at the gate stop the Uber and ask the purpose the visit and ask you to show a picture ID or ask to scan your MB?
If you were alone (party of 1) you are more likely to be admitted with little challenge. However it is are many DIS members have posted above it is ultimately up to Guard at the Gate if you don't have an ADR or a resort reservation or referencing that you are visiting a guest of the resort and you are able to provide a name that the Guard is able to lookup.
I regularly visit other resorts and have turned up at many in an Uber, including at all of the monorail resorts, and have never had a problem. They care about people trying to park there, but dropping off is not an issue (well not in my experience).
