Resort Discounts in Fall

I'm doing preliminary planning for a trip to WDW in Oct 2005. seeing as how I'm trying to get the most for my pitiful amount of money, I've been planning on staying at POP Century. However, I've started to think that if it's this far away maybe I could look into some other resorts... maybe split my stay between an inexpensive deluxe and POP.

My question is... what kind of rates (discounts) have you guys gotten in the Fall Value Season? If I remember right, Wilderness Lodge and Contemporary Garden Wing Section had the cheapest rates of the deluxe resorts.

Getting an idea of this will help me decide what to do Thanks!!

You might want to check out mousesavers.com and see what type of discounts are available this fall. We have gotten $79 at the moderates and $109 at the two lodges.

After looking thru all the deluxes... I think the Contemporary Garden Wing would be just what we'd be looking at... for at least the first 2 nights (probably all i could afford) to utilize the monorail for MK and Epcot.

What kinds of discounts have you all gotten for that section and that resort in the Fall Value Season. I will not be booking a package... just a room only reservation.

I am having a similar dilemma. Since it is so far in advance can you book now and apply discounts later? I thought that if I booked now I was stuck with the rate I'm given.

You can book your room only ressie now, and when the discounts come out you call and see if you can apply the discount to your ressie. It depends on what resort you are at and how many rooms they release at the discounted rate. Then its just a matter of calling and getting the discount. Sometimes you have to be flexible with the resort & dates. At least this has been my experience. I would definately try and plan to do a split if you can save up.

We are staying at the contempory in Dec. in a standard wing room for $143.00 per night. I originally had WL booked at rack rate of $199.00. When I couldn't get a discount at WL, I asked about other resorts and was able to get CR. I also switch to the following week. I was able to be a little flexible with my time frame. not sure if you guys have looked at the dates for value season yet but they have changed

Value Season: 1/1 - 2/16, 7/5 - 10/4, 11/27 - 12/19

What s/he said. October used to be Value Season, but no longer.
