Hopefullly I won't be bashed for askinng a stupid question.. but I must ask it all the same. I have read on here people talking about the resort codes they have recieved etc. How do you receive these? Are they mailed, if so, how do you get on teh list..

Some are mailed out and can only be used by that person. Mousesavers.com also has a listing. We have used annual pass codes many times in the past and have saved a lot!! We stayed at the Wilderness Lodge for 114 per night in early Aug and the CB and CS for about 75 per night just for a few examples. A mail offer I received for the Value resorts was 49 per night in Jan., did not go though.

I kinda suspected that.. but how do you get on mailing lists for these.. have to be a Disney Visa cardmember or something like that.. we just returned from 8 days at POFQ. do they use former stays as well??

No rhyme or reason why the card in the mail. They say everything helps. Disney Visa holder, sign up on Disney site, we had been AP holders a number of years, we booked reservations directly with Disney. Those are a few of the things we do or have done.

:rotfl2: I'm calling on Monday to get on that list
The housing bubble has burst and the U.S. economy is clearly headed for a recession. Discretionary spending is already starting to take a hit. That kind of news worries WDW. The resort is overbuilt with more rooms than they can reasonably keep booked. They’ve got about 21,000 rooms to keep full (not including the DVC).

WDW stopped phase II of the Pop Century Resort and they’ve been converting as many AKL and Contemporary rooms over to DVC as quickly as possible. They make a fortune from those DVC sales contracts. The DVC folks pay full rack rate and WDW profits handsomely because the DVC people have prepaid! But I digress.

Just between you and me, WDW is currently suffering from a tourism and travel slump. Don’t tell them I said that, OK?

WDW works hard to keep their occupancy rates at a high level and that means discounts! They’d rather book a room at 50% off rack than have it sit empty.

Calling Guest Relations doesn’t guarantee you’ll get a code offer but it can’t hurt. They need all the prospects they can get right now.
