Last night, we made reservation for WL for Nov/Dec. We called Disney directly. The agent on the phone said that my credit card will be charged for the whole amount of the stay right away (6 nights). If we cancel later (before 5 days timeline) the amount will be refunded back to the card. Is this right?

I thought I heard it is one night deposit, and not the whole stay.

This is our first time staying in an Disney World resort. Wish us luck :)

:wave2: Welcome to the DIS, they should have only charged one night stay if you only booked the room-only stay and not a package. The remainder should be due at the time of arrival. I am staying at WL for the first time in May, I will let you know how it is. Have a wonderful trip!!!!

For a room only reservation, the deposit should only be one night's rate. If you book a package with tickets and/or dining, then it is fully payable in advance with a nominal deposit and the balance due a minimum of 45 days prior to travel.

You should check on this if you booked the room only--this deposit policy has not changed in years as far as I know, and I think they screwed up.

Yeah, this is room-only reservation. We used AAA discount for now until we can see what AP discounts are available in a few months. I'll watch our credit card statement closely :) Thanks.

I would just call disney themselves and see what your ressie balance is, they you would know for sure. :flower:

Yes, the deposit is equal to one night's stay plus tax, unless you purchased tickets, and then those would be due in full at time of purchase.

Call DRC and check, just to make sure. And the cancellation policy is MORE than 5 days prior to arrival, you'll get your deposit back, within 5 days you'll lose your one night's stay deposit.
