Resort Decision

No, I specifically noted this is for F&W. BCV is so small that I assume F&W and Christmas are equally difficult to get into though.

We'll give it a shot. I know we can get into Poly or BWV with that timing if the BCV request doesn't work out so it's really not a big deal either way.
We have found that there is a lot of movement withBWV. So even if you don’t get it right away, if you keep checking (stalking), odds are something will open up. BCV people seem to be very organized type people who never have to change their reservations. They seem to be diehards and only book at BCV. It is the white whale of reservations for the non BCV owner. Lol

Surpassed only by boardwalk view, which I finally got for my next trip! Jambo club level was easier than boardwalk view.

Sure, it's theoretically possible to get a BC studio. But the rental sites aren't going to monkey with this early in the morning or walk it or whatever -- assuming they even have BC points. As a renter, probably better to get something more achievable, like BW or even RIV, which can also be tight in the studio category.

The problem is that your rental agency might not tell you it's impossible until it's too late to book the good BW/RIV categories. The other solution is to rent from a person, which obviously has its own risks.

You actually have to walk a BCV studio at 10-11 months? That's crazy.

For most times of year, the only rooms that need to be walked are Jambo Club Level and Value Studios & 2-bdrms, and BWV Standard and BW View Studios & 2-bdrms. Both Jambo & BWV only have lock-off 2-bdrms.
BCV Studios are usually pretty wide open until about the 8-month mark; BWV Garden/Pool Studios/2-bdrms will usually have availability until about the 7-month mark.

I own at BCV and one of the things I like is the lack of walking! Even at really busy times it seems that owners are quite laid back. No one seems to be online straight away at 11 months. There's no risk with leaving it a few days. I've forgotten to do my booking for a couple of weeks previously with no issues.

I can't see any reason why renting points should be a problem. I appreciate that it's a completely different matter at 7 months, but renting from an owner either directly or through an agency should be fine.

Even though it is not ideal, we did a 5 night split stay last December (Poly and BWV - 2 Poly and 3 BWV). Both of these resorts were bucket lists for us, and we are so glad we did the split stay. We did our MK/Christmas Party days at Poly (the monorail is awesome) and then did our Epcot (walking in and out) and HS (boat) days when we went to BWV. It doesn't seem ideal to have to change over after 2 nights, but for us it was so worth it to be able to enjoy both bucket list resorts and have the convenience of location to the parks.
I’m doing 2 nights BLT, and 3 nights BWV this December!
