Resort Days and Tickets

For our next trip, I would like to plan at least one resort day to enjoy the pool, take a slow down break, etc.

I'm wondering if I should I buy a park ticket for that day. We haven't done a resort day before and I'm curious if we (me!) would want to go do the parks late for fireworks, MSEP, etc.

Any advice? TIA!

You can always add a day to your tickets once you're there, if you decide to head into a park late. You would have to stop by guest services, but if it's not too busy a time of year, it shouldn't take too long.

Assuming you are going for 7 days, if you've already purchased 6 days of tickets, a 7th day does not cost that much more.

For me, it would depend if kids are with us.
If it's just me and my wife, we would make a complete resort day with no parks. We'd try to eat dinner at Narcoossee's and watch the fireworks from either there or the GF dock.

If we did have kids, they'd probably want to go to the park later in the evening, so we'd schedule all of our fastpasses for later in the day and attempt to get into the wishes dessert party.

We always to a resort day or two, but we go for 10 park days and then two or three resort days. We do dtd on those days, sometimes if we have water park and fun we will do a water park or Disney quest, we will book things like the pirate cruise for the kids or BBB at dtd for the kids. We spend time at the resort, or visit other resorts, like FW to see the animals. Or POR for pole fishing and carriage rides. We usually will book two sit down meals at resorts that day like ohana for dinner and then watch the fireworks from the beach, or hoop dEe do review after seeing thE animals. Or we will stroller the boardwalk in the evenings and see illuminations from there. During late morning and early afternoon we swim. You can even watch a movie at any of the resorts after dark. We find that we need the day away from the park but find more than enough to do without going, and as others say you can add a day if you wish.

Thanks! I have a feeling that we would enjoy a day to relax by the pool, explore DtD, or even catch a movie. That is definitely something DH would love for me to include in the schedule somewhere in the middle of the week.

I'm sure it'll be just fine to not go to any parks for a day - I'll survive, right? ;)

Absolutely! We always short ourself a day. You need that down time. There is so much to do with swimming, eating, DTD or just checking out a different resort for fun. How about even a QS meal at a different resort to check it out. We have never regretted it.

If you find yourself needing an extra day you can always buy it when you decide. After your 4th day it is only $10 to add an extra day.
