Can you give me some ideas of Resorts that have great counter service meals. Thought it might be fun to try eating at other resorts as a way of making a point of see them.

Some of our favorites...

Capt Cook's at the Poly - Aloha Pork sandwich, Adult Grilled Cheese, flatbreads

Contempo Cafe - Beef Flatbread, Honey Lime Chicken sandwich, Stacked Sandwich, Turkey BLT, cupcakes

Artist Palette at SSR - Asian Chicken Salad, Mozzarella Salad, Chicken Cordon Bleu Panini

Some very good choices at Pop, especially the "Mom's Night Out" selections.

Contempo Cafe at Contem - love the ceasar salad and burgers
Gasparillas at GF - grab a jerk chicken wrap with some fancy coleslaw and sit outside near the boat dock watching the fireworks :)

The most choices in 1 place are any of the vlue food courts. For a little less selection but some more higher level choices go to a moderate food court. The deluxes will have 1 or 2 specail items and then the most basic of choices but significantly les in choices than the other resorts.

For specialties I love to snack on the bengiets at POFQ, I adore the soups at AKL (Mara), and the Togna Toast makes a great breakfast at Poly.

On my visit in October I went over to the GF and had a nice green salad topped with lobster meat at their "food court."

Our favorite resort CS is Captain Cooks at the Poly, followed by Roaring Forks at the WL :). Both places have a pretty good variety, IMO ;).

I would highly recommend the Contempo Cafe at Disney's Contemporary Resort. My favorite item on their menu is the Chicken Caesar Salad with the dressing already tossed in. Plus unlike other counter service locations their Salads are always made fresh each time you order them, so they are not pre-made and kept inside a fridge all day.

Thanks so much that has given me a lot to think about we are going to be a large group so more to choose from should meet the needs of the many. :)

If you're on the dining plan, Pepper Market at Coronado Springs is a great value. Last time we were there you could even get steak for dinner (not lunch), but not sure if that is still on the menu. They have an Italian station, a Mexican station, and a "Grill" station. It's a little confusing to order at first, but not difficult.

I was just popping over to say this one! It's fantastic!

You get table service for drinks so are expected to tip the waiter but can use CS credits for the meal and soft drink as per normal. The meals are in general freshly made in front of you. We had chicken fajitas and it was amazing! Our waiter who served us drinks even brought us extra tortillas for the food free of charge! It was fab!

The make your own pasta and salad stations at POR are fantastic.

I'm also a huge fan of Captain Cook's in the Poly. The Polynesian chips are a nice alternative to fries.

I also really enjoyed the Pepper Market in Coronado Springs for the fresh made nachos.

I love AKL's CS selections! Especially their roasted red pepper hummus for a snack & zebra domes for dessert! The falafel & flatbreads were tasty too. I also liked the Poly's adult grilled cheese & flatbread sandwiches. Beaches & Cream at the BC doesn't cost much more than a CS (IMHO), but you get the luxury of a waitress & you can check out YC while you're there.
