Hi everyone,

I'm so excited we're returning to WDW the first week in Dec. (1-5) and really want to catch some of the Christmas displays at the resorts. For sure the Grand Floridian is on the list but are there any others we should make sure to visit? We're not staying on site - we're at the Hilton at DD so we're really wanting to get in on the Disney deco magic. :santa:

thanks for your help!

Wow, thanks Charles! I haven't even made it past the first thread and I am loving your pictures! You've got me even more excited than I was!!

Awesome - thanks again!

i can't take credit for the threads but looking at all those other posters' pictures always puts me in a holiday mood. :)

They are all beautiful, but I would do the Monorail loop....GF, Poly, Contemporary, and then take the boat over to Wilderness lodge. Then you can get to a lot in a shorter amount of time.

I also like to leave Epcot through International Gateway or leave DHS and walk or take the boat to Beach Club, YC, Swan, Dolphin, and Boardwalk. Again...lots of resorts easy to get to in a shorter time frame.

Enjoy!!! THe Holiday season at WDW is beautiful!

Piglet's Mom - thanks - those are excellent ideas. The monorail loop is on the list and the Epcot excursion will help knock out a few more without too much of going out of the way

We enjoy GF, Wilderness Lodge and then the whole Epcot Resort loop (YC/BC/BW/Swolphin); in that order. Disappointed in past years with the Contemporary and Poly displays.

Forgot to mention about WL, be sure to check out the tree in the Villas as well as the main lobby. Also, while in the main lobby you might want to go to one of the upper floors for a different perspective on the decorations.

I would go to all the deluxe resorts ach one has a different them. dont forget the dohpin the have a large reain around the tree.

Don't miss AKL -- it is spectacular. Also, don't count out the moderate resorts. CSR and POFQ do a great job -- better than Poly and CR IMHO.

Any idea when the decorations go up at WL we will be there Nov 4-10 and Im hoping to see it

Have no idea exactly.

Start the day after Halloween, and guaranteed done the Saturday after Thanksgiving.

They go up overnight, so you never know.!!

I agree with the monorail loop and EPCOT resort loops. My favorite 2 out of those are Grand Floridian & Board Walk.

the decorations are typically (mostly) finalized around thanksgiving. you'll see some things up but probably not very much...

FYI, some of the photos were taken in 2008 and since then Disney has scaled down some of the decorations at the resorts.

They are still fabulous but not as much as they used to be. Just did want you to be disappointed.

We are taking our first trip with our children, 2 & 5. Looking for a down day activity. The monorail trail is an excellent idea. We are staying at the cabins at Ft. Wilderness and will have our car. Which resort would be a good place to start?

Definately drive thru Ft Wilderness, as people there really do up their sites. I haven't seen it personally, but I have heard it is really cool. From there I would take the boat to WL and see the beautiful decorations there, then you can take the boat on over to the Contemporary, and do the monorail loop. You could also drive it, but the boat and monorail would be more fun, esp. if it is not too cold for the boat.

Awesome, thanks!

I didn't know there was a boat from WL to Contemporary. It will be a great way to spend the day.
