resort check in with baggage ??

We will be staying at the pop century and flying airtran. This is our first time with the "fee" for checked bags. My question is...............has anyone recently called the baggage airline guest services when flying out on airtran, paid for your bags and had any issues when dropping the luggage off with luggage services. Does the fee show as paid immediately and they handle your bags?? I dont want to have to check in at the airport and lug the luggage with us. that would be awful. Any feedback is appreciated!

I used it in May. You will get a letter on your door the day before, giving you your pick up time, and at the bottom of the letter is BAGS number for you to call if you are checking luggage. When you call them, be sure to have your credit card, a piece of paper, and a pen ready. As soon as you tell them how many bags you are checking and give them the credit card number they will immediately rattle off a comfirmation number for you. The next morning when I carried my bags down to the DME desk, they looked up my flight and said, "Oh I see you are checking one bag and have already called and paid the luggage fee".
