After our cruise we are staying on site a night (all-star) and only doing MNSSHP but would love to do a character breakfast/lunch after we disembark at approx 8 am on Thursday.

We can't check in untill 3 I believe, so this would give us a nice chunk of time to enjoy a longer meal.

I assume that it would have to be at resort since we are not going to the park earlier in the day, also we will have our own car so getting around isn't an issue. Any suggestions would really help us. I am a complete newbie to anything WDW. TIA

There are three character meals at resorts for breakfast: Chef Mickey's at the Contemporary, Ohanas at the Polynesian and Cape May Cafe at the Beach Club.

Cape May would be our first choice, followed by Chef Mickey's. We've not done Ohanas since they changed it from a buffet to family style and took away Minnie, Goofy, Pluto and Chip and Dale and switched it to Stitch (we don't care for Stitch, sorry).

We would like something late morning...10 or 11, or are they all super early? And a little OT but how far are the Deluxe resorts from the Value? Will parking be an issue since we would not check in to the resort till after the Character breakfast? 1 more thing how far is Port canaveral from Disney? Sorry about all the questions :) and thank you.

Breakfast times at the resorts usually run to around 11-11:30 so no need to eat early. We actually have an 11:20 reservation for breakfast at Chef Mickey's this trip. There is also a character breakfast at 1900 Park Fare, but I see you have two sons, so character wise I think one of the three that KatMark mentioned would probably be a better fit. :)

resorts are pretty much across the park from many of the deluxe resorts. The Contemporary where Chef Mickey is located is about as far away as possible. You can drive there. You are allowed up to three hours of parking with your ADR. They usually check your name against a list and give you a parking pass.

We usually do CM on our departure day and drive over about 10:00 for our ADR.
