I don't understand why there has to be that "I'm too good for a Value" mentality. And I never said anything against anyone on a personal level, just posted my bad experience at the resort in question. I hate how certain people can make you avoid an entire thread.

At work today, I saw this movie called Mega Shark vs. Giant Octopus and I thought of Disneyland. Why you ask? Because I thought of the giant octopus/squid from the 20k Leagues Under the Sea ride and Bruce from the Finding Nemo submarine ride. I could see them fighting to see who stays at DL and as you can see, Bruce won since 20k Leagues Under the Sea isn't there anymore.

I'm so weird.

I hear you! But a lot of folks on here (Well not here per say - but on the DIS) have that mentality. I don't know why - maybe staying at a *gasp* value resort would cut into their high opinion of themselves?

And yes, on the thread too. I'm not fond of the CSR thread just for the cliquey attitude and because of that whack job that used to post on there. Which reminds me - someone has been sending me "Yeah CSR" pm's. They have exactly 10 posts (just enough to pm) and sound exactly like "he who shall not be named". I'm willing to be that he's back.

And that's true of any resort on WDW property. If you don't love their resort and have had the most magical of all possible stays there -you get shredded.

Not weird. I saw a sign for something in the store today up on the wall and it reminded me of the road signs at WDW. It was purple, you see.

LOL! A lot of things remind me of WDW even though I hardly remember my only trip. I think I've spent a little too much time on the DIS.

I definitely agree. It's like if I pay $400 a night I'm better than you. I like ALL levels of resorts and don't consider myself better than anyone. I might be staying at Poly/GF this trip, and Pop and CBR next time! I enjoy the theming and experience. There are particular resorts on every level I wouldn't stay at, but not because I'm better than them. I just don't like the theming, layout, or location of them. If someone said they had a bad experience at Pop, so be it! I'm not going to bash them because of it. Okay, off my soap box!

I definitely agree. It's like if I pay $400 a night I'm better than you. I like ALL levels of resorts and don't consider myself better than anyone. But which one! That could take a year or more to come up with. I vote for that huge suite at the GF, or my dream suite at AKL instead.

I'm with you on the affordablilty of a stay. If I have the money, sure I'll stay CL one trip or two, but if I don't then I'll go value.

Stepdisney Welcome back! Sounds like you NEED this vacation I love Kidani, but I did like the Epcot/HS boat when we were at BCV.

OK Ladies, I am ALL in for the GV idea, or Disney Suite at GF, or 3 rooms at Pop I am happy anywhere at Disney. We started with values and ALWAYS had a great time. I have totally been splurging this year (got a great discount and upgrade last year) but we work hard, and this is as close to Heaven as it gets for me. Next year I may have to do Pop then Poly (or CR) or just Pop, I'll see as it gets closer. You never know what comes up...braces, broken leg, etc. Not to mention other than AKL I have never stayed Deluxe. I will pick up extra shifts for our vacation since I've adopted you all into my family

I told my boyfriend about this and he told me we would be sleeping in a lobby because we won't be able to decide on a hotel. Even when we get there we will probably change our minds.

As much as I love the Poly and reading the thread to keep me from dying of over excitement from our trip, I think I'm going to stay away from there. I've been getting a less than friendly feeling over there lately. At least I still have my RC and GF family!

I think that what separates a "good" resort thread from a "not-so-good" thread is the ability to complain a little about the resort without getting flamed and being able to get a prompt answer to your question. There is one resort thread that actually turns me off to the resort (which is partly why I look for ways to rationalize not staying there). They often get so wrapped-up in personal chit-chat (for pages) that has nothing to do at all with the resort and I've noticed many posters' questions end-up ignored. If you don't drink the kool-aid on that thread, then it's hard to "fit in." I've not encountered any other thread quite like it.

How about the Tree House. Since we're only a family of three, I need an excuse to stay in one.

Like I mentioned on a previous page, I've never stayed at a Value, but I always thought a Family Suite sounded great. I've heard the food court is great there, too. And, everyone seems to love the over-the-top theming. But, we love being able to walk and/or monorail to the resorts so we usually end-up at the CR or another Deluxe. Even though we prefer the Deluxe-sized rooms and location, after all my many threats of resort changing to DH, he's always pragmatic and says that there really isn't an awful resort at WDW; they're all very nice. You might prefer one over another, but they're all on-property and a WDW Resort and that's what matters most. Of course, after he says this, I still am undecided.

Kaffinito: Are you able to use the coupons I posted the link to? I used them a few times at Christmas and I wished they had them year 'round for the QSs since they don't take TIW.

So who got mail from ME? This girl right here! I got off work early because they are cutting hours and I checked the mail when I got home and saw a letter from ME! I squealed! I was so happy! I was worried that the tags were going to say BWI because I didn't send them a new form with my resort as CR until 41 days out and they send them at 42 days out, but the tags say CR! This means my trip is so close! I think I'm gonna take a picture of it and post 'em here!

I'm psyched for that too - maybe we could just book there in 2012 for our "resort changers" stay? We could each get a differently themed room.
