Resort Changers--The Saga Continues.....

Well... where did you decide to stay? If you need help enabling, I mean encouraging you to change :rotfl: you've come to the right place!!
Uhhhh, no thank-you, I'm doing just fine all by myself, but hey, thanx for the kind offer! :lmao: (Hmmmmm, vicariously enjoying the fix of changing resorts---now that's an idea. ;) ) I think we might've changed once since my last post, o.k., twice, maybe? We're doing a split stay at Contemporary and BC CL. BUT, that's it!!!!!!!!!!! No more changes!!!

The cm I had last night was amazing & so supportive to my "condition". I let him know it too & he was just wonderful and so helpful all around! :thumbsup2
Where is everybody???? I leave in 3 days and I can't wait.
:cool1: :cool1: :cool1: Doing the Mickey Hussle !!!

WOW!!! Just three days----SOOOO excited for you and I know you can't hardly wait. Where are you staying/have you switched....(yet?)

Well, have a wonderful time and good luck sticking to your current res! :woohoo:

We totally loved POP. We did the WPFM option, and were never in the room except to sleep. I now realize how much money I save by staying there. It is my DS's favorite resort now. So much, in fact that we booked the bounceback and got the free dining for next year.:yay: The staff was as friendly and efficient as it was in WL or AKL. I am counting down for my next trip already. The boys ask every day when we are going back.pirate:

AHHH! I have found my new home! I think I have caused many CM's to take vacation, or otherwise....:lmao: from my indecisiveness! We have stayed at most of the value's and have enjoyed them. What's not to enjoy when you are at the Happiest Place On Earth? :confused3 But now, since my baby is three we are limited, so much for the days of cheap disney trips.

We are currently booked at POR, but I so badly want to try BWI or GF. But then trying something new sort makes me a little nervous. ( that would be where the therapy would come in for me...:rotfl: )

I am so glad to have found some soul sisters here! Not that I enjoy reading others struggles, but it is nice to know when I officially go crazy, I will have some company!

How about the All Star Family Suites at ASMU. I have seen pics, and they look pretty good. Also, there are the cabins at Ft. Wilderness. Kind of like camping for the kids but sleeping in a bed for us.

I don't know how the kids would do sleeping in a seperate room, so more then likely it would be me or my husband on the pull out sofa for the suite which really doesn't appeal to me! Cabins.....:confused3 I could take them or leave them. Again, me kids are kinda young and I don't know that they would sleep in a seperate room, in a different place. ( I have a hard enough time keeping them out of our room at home! )

I liked the thought of being on the monorail, and all being together in one room. I know my oldest would immediately claim the daybed! But then I start to think about all the money we would save if we went with POR or ASMu....oh man!!! I guess I am just thankful this is all I really have to worry about! :thumbsup2

Where we stayed this time...... I am SOOOOOOO the QUEEN of resort changers. Ended up......................................drum roll please.............................. KIDANI VILLAGE 1BR, 2 Bath....WONDERFULLLLLL:cloud9: and ALLLL UPGRADED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :goodvibes:cool1::rotfl2::banana: Hubby promised me this time to help upload pictures so look for them soon. :thumbsup2 Just got back and didn't have time to chat while away (11 days of bliss!!!!) We actually had a choice between boardwalk (PINCH ME I'M DREAMING but choose AKLV because of the sleeper chair AND sleeper sofa for the boys). I can hardly believe it myself.:lovestruc:cloud9::dance3::yay::woohoo::faint: whew..... We had the most amazing trip this time and I think changing at check-in qualifies me as your new queen!!!!!!!!!!

I was just wondering how you ended up liking SSR?
I can't believe you changed resorts at check in, that hilarious!! Did they look at you crazy??
I can't wait to see pics! I'm glad you had a great time, how were the crowds?

I didn't like it. Too spread out and the theming just wasn't what I wanted. It seemed like apartments to me. I didn't like the outdoor entrance either. The boys were very disappointed and after the summer we had, selling the home, packing, moving, unpacking new schools, etc.....it was too much for me. When the little one said "we're not staying at Disney this time" I started to cry....yes cry.... I think I've been holding it together all summer and the pressure just got to me. The girl at the desk asked me what was wrong to which I replyed....I, I don't like it.....like a blubbering idiot!!! (lol) My DH just looked at me wide-eyed and put his arm around me. The very nice lady asked us to step aside, she assigned our room, we went up to our room and they called us immediately and asked if we wanted to switch!!!! (uh....YES!!! changing is what I DO!!!) I couldn't get myself together right away but did in enough time for her to give me the choices of BWV or AKLV (KIDANI). We went with Kidani and I LOVED IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hearing my child say that would make me cry too:sad1:
Did you have to pay, or did they just switch you??? If so, you got one heck of an upgrade! Can't wait for pictures!!!!
Did you book the bounceback???

They told me it was no charge for us! :woohoo: Talk about magic. I just figured that I would go to my room and cry a bit and deal with it but the call came and POW they sent over a van and we were moved. We didn't have a Savannah view but whew the view from the lookout area where the fire pit was and from the rocking chairs was fabulous. They also have a viewing area of the new Savannah by the pool. Speaking of pools, this one was lovely. The kids loved the slides and the play area was a lot of fun. They had a series of buckets that filled up randomly and you would never know which ones would tip when! Very nice. Also, the bus always dropped off Kidani first and then Jambo. It also picked up Kidani first and then Jambo except for DTD so that you could go to Jambo on any bus for Mara or Boma and go back on the DTD bus to Kidani. Never had to wait long at all and only stood once the whole time! :thumbsup2

Wow!! That's a great upgrade! I'm so happy for you and I'm glad the kids liked it too! :thumbsup2 It sounds wonderful there.:cloud9:
A few days ago I looked at your ticker and it looks like you re-booked for next year at SSR, I thought I might have regreted my decision to switch to the BC.

How were the crowds? I think next year were going to go in August instead of September so the kids don't miss any school.

I have to go in and change my ticker. I think you did the right thing with BC. It's where you really wanted to stay anyway. The ticker just goes back and starts all over again after your trip. I have to change mine. I did book bounceback at AKL next year just to have a room to start with....alas, here we go again with the changing thing. The children want to try BLT....I think it looks like the airport....here we go again. :goodvibes The crowds were EXCELLENT. We didn't even use our Everest fast passes. About the only things we needed Fastpasses for were Toy story Mania and Soarin. Soarin on the last night only and TSM, well, you know how that is.

Hi Stepdisney, wow, I'm wondering if we were there at the same time, as I just got home today? We stayed one night at AKL, (the 3 prior at OKW) and we absolutely loved AKL. Of course we were at Jambo, and never wound up walking over to Kidani, but it was all so beautiful. I sat with my Sister on one of the stairwells (we were watching some giraffes and some zebras) and we completely missed our ADR at Boma's! I swear it was only 30 minutes, but really it was 2.5 hours - how did that happen. The staff at Boma's was very gracious and allowed us to be seated! All I can say, is that I'm glad you were happy with your trip and now understand all the excitement about AKL. Really, it is a one of a kind resort, and I would go there, even without Disney:scared1:!!! Oh no, I don't when I can possibly go back since I've gone twice this year. I hope everyone posts about their trips! Again, glad you got AKL - isn't it amazing. I feel so priviledged to have stayed there!!!!

We are back from the Beach Club.
We had a great time! Crowds were heavier than I expected. Most main rides were 30-60 minute waits. Last year we never waited more than 10-15 minutes, except for TSM. We LOVED SAB!!! The sand bottom was great! The Beach Club itself was okay, we had a few problems with fire ants in our room and broken closet doors and refrigerators, but other than that we had a GREAT time! :thumbsup2
I booked the bounce back before we left. I wanted to try for a villa for next August, but none were available except for OKW & SSR, so I booked the Yacht Club.
Today I just modified my reservation for KIDANI!!! :cool1:
We now have a 1 bedroom standard view for next August

Stepdisney, I need to see your pics from Kidani!!!popcorn::

Whoo Hoo!!! :cheer2: Leeann I am so happy you switched to Beachclub. :yay: I have been so busy painting and unpacking and getting the new house together that I rarely have time to get on line. My DSIL emailed me yesterday about the Disney cruise. Looks like we will be finalizing plans next week-end and we will be doing sea and land ending with Free dining. I have to figure out uploading. Maybe we will take a break and do it this evening. I LOVED Kidani village! It's going to be hard for us not to book again. I'm not sure if we can swing it after the cruise. Currently we have AKL Jambo booked. Log on tonight to see if I can master uploading the pictures. You'll LOVE the one bedroom........ahhhhh the memories.....:cloud9:

I think I'm suffering some early symptoms of changeritis:lmao:. We just booked GF with the 7/4 deal but now I'm having second thoughts. I really love the Epcot-area resorts and would love to stay at BC again or try BWI forthe first time. But then reality kicks in and I realize it makes more sense for us to stay near MK because, with a 4 y/o, that's where we spend most of our time. For some reason I'm having a hard time being completely sold with GF and I'm not sure why:confused3. I've always dreamed of being able to stay there--what is wrong with me?:crazy2: So now I'm thinking - should we switch to Poly-CL, although that would likely entail shortening the trip by one night to stay in budget (DH doesn't think we need to shorten but I'm the one that crunches thenumbers:rotfl:)?

What to do, what to do? Any words of wisdom? Ack!:scared1:

Okay, deep breath stinkerbelle, everything is going to be fine! :goodvibes Ask yourself why you've always wanted to stay at the GF. Has anything changed? If you've stayed at Poly before then you may want to give GF a chance. Make sure you know why you want to stay there. Poly is always a nice option but I'd choose an extra day over snacks especially if the extra day was at the GF. I love Epcot resort area but I have yet to stay there.....not that I haven't actually booked a room once, or twice, or three times.....sorry, I got sidetracked.

Hope I helped.

I'm meeting with my SIL and a cousin to finalize our Disney Cruise plans for next August. Any suggestions. How many choices of staterooms are there? Am I going to go absolutely crazy making changes? We are all thinking of staying at CSR after the cruise but I want to stay at BC. Currently I'm booked at AKL....here we go again......:faint:

If you are anything like me, its so much fun imagining which resort to stay at, that once I commit, I want to change :lmao:. I don't think you could go wrong at GF, its so lovely there and very refined. I can also see why you would want to try BWI too, but with a 4 y/o I think staying at a monorail resort would work out best. Have you thought about doing a split stay - well I guess with the 7/4 that wouldn't work, but maybe you could add a night to either the beginning or end of your trip just to check out BWI. I loved staying at the Poly but I would love to stay GF too! Have fun deciding!!!

Hey stepdisney! Wow a cruise! I just got a pin code for the cruise for kids free with 2 adults, but it could never work for me as my DH would never go - ahhh shucks, but good for you. I don't know anything about the choices of staterooms - but pick a room that is not next to the elevators, that much I know. Hey have fun planning your cruise!

Thank you!!:goodvibes That does help. I think that when I've pictured staying at GF I've always thought it would be DH and I for a romantic trip alone so maybe I'm having a hard time visualizing it as a family trip :confused3. I think we get stuck on going back to Poly CL because that's what we did on our last trip, which was one of our best trips ever so we want to recapture that, but then again, we usually don't do the same resort two trips in a row. You see how I go round and round:lmao:.

Oh you're so right! And because the MK-area resorts and the Epcot-area resorts each have their unique pluses that I just can't decide.:confused3 I would love  to do a split stay but like you said, I'm on the 7/4 so I don't think it's going to be feasible but never say never I guess;). Thanks for responding!:goodvibes
