Resort Changers--The Saga Continues.....

I love my blue tiara! It's on my desk right now looking pretty! :)

My birthday was wonderful! It was relaxing and fun at the same time and I didn't need a lot of alcohol (if any at all) to have a great time! :)

Besides the yummy drinks and playing a bunch of games, the dinner was one of the most enjoyable things about my birthday yesterday. We went to Outback (we usually go there for birthdays) and I had a yummy prime rib and some crab cakes.

I've never been to US/IoA, but I saw videos of the Jaws and Jurrasic Park rides on youtube and they scare the crap out of me.

A few updates.

I haven't made any changes yet to our ressie - I'm still trying to figure out if we're flying or driving. the boys will have to fly from Dallas to Orlando, and with my airfare too it comes out to $768.00. Driving comes out to $427.00 so right now it looks like it will be cheaper to drive than to fly. That means that we'll have to have an 8 day trip, and I won't be able to add an extra day on anywhere. :upsidedow

In other news, I ended up fostering two baby raccoons, and am trying to find a professional around here to take care of them, and between that and work I haven;t been on here much.

Also, and this is the big one, DS18 Mr "Fun With Autism" himself, is moving out of the house! :yay:

So I've been trying to get him ready to go as well, since he's moving out (:yay:) this weekend. I think he's ready to go - he's good with money and such, it's just hard to let go of your oldest, especially one with a disability. :scared1:

So my WDW and IS/IoA plans will have to be tweaked a lot before I can make any firm decisions on the trip... :goodvibes

pas130 YAY! At least you know there's a definite trip there in the near future. That's so exciting and it gives you a real treat to look forward to.

kaffinito My DS is so odd when it comes to rides. He used to love BTMRR but now he's afraid of it. He HATES EE because of the yeti even though he doesn't open his eyes for even a second on the ride :confused3 but he LOVES Splash Mountain. I got talked into going on it once and I'm still traumatized over it. The best part is that no one told me I had makeup all over my face from crying on the way down (yes, I admit it. I cried like a baby) and they let me walk through the MK and go into a store to buy beer with mascara and eyeliner all over my face. Fantastic. DS loves that and Kali River Rapids but hates all other coasters. He's a strange kid.

 I had such mixed emotions when my son moved out. He picked a horrible time-a week before Christmas:eek: But we get along so much better. That's great your DS has it all together to be on his own. :goodvibes

As for my GF trip next Xmas-it may be CR or Poly. But I think RPC would be awesome with the decorations.

And the Lowes hotels are great with changes-I've made MANY date changes since my booking:rotfl:

disneydreamin247I am stalking the threads to make my final decision....but my gut tells me GF RPC;) It's a looooong way away. Lots of time to "tweak":lmao:

kaffinito I can't imagine the day that happens, although at the rate DS is going I don't think it ever will. Stay strong mama! I know it's bittersweet.

pas130 I say GF all the way!!!

He doesn't exactly have his act together. ;) He really doesn't - even a little bit. But, he will never learn how to do adult independent things as long as he's under my roof, so.... :goodvibes

As far as GF RPC - it is a really spectacular CL. It really really is. If you ask for a room off of the lobby, then you will have a wonderful view of the orchestra and the decorations, as well as that wonderful lobby smell. :cloud9:

It is bittersweet, and very scary. Thank God I could get him a month to month lease. ;) He isn't functioning at a high level yet, but high enough to go on his own - but close by. But as I said earlier, he will never learn as long as he doesn't have a reason to learn. :goodvibes

So how is the Princess? Is she teething or just Little Miss Cranky Pants? And are you getting any sleep?

You know, one of my biggest fears is that DS is going to turn out like his donor. I try not to cater to him and make him do as much for himself as possible but I'm really worried about his ability to function in society. If you could see his meltdowns you'd see what I'm talking about. It's really, really scary and heartbreaking. Hopefully when he finally sees the doctor they'll be able to get him on meds to stabilize him.

Princess Lily isn't teething, just a fussy gussy! She's doing much better now, though. She didn't have her probiotics for 2 days and that was the cause of one very cranky baby! We are sleeping very well at night now. We have to cosleep but if that is the difference between sleeping or not I'll take it!!! I'm going to try transitioning to the crib soon though.

I've had the same fear about Ben. He's like him in some ways, but you know, with good parenting, he won't turn out like his donor.

The more we recognize their "problem" areas, the more we can help them find alternate ways of expressing themselves. Ben hardly ever has tantrums now, he's found other ways of expressing his anger. I really do understand your fears - I had to work through the same fears with Ben.

As far as the Princess - I hope she can go into a crib soon. Youngest DS was a co- sleeper too - when he bothered to sleep. :upsidedow

I hope everyone is doing well! Congrats Kaffinito on your son moving out! I hope he is doing well! I'm sure my mom wishes I was out of the house now, but I would much rather save my money for a house than waste it on rent. It's so expensive to live out here. :sad2:

@disneydreamin247: I hope your son gets better. I hope it's just a phase that he will overcome once he gets older.

I can't believe my trip is almost here! Just a few more days! I'm so not prepared and I haven't even packed yet! :scared1:

Well fellow resort changers I've done my last 'change' ;) first 6 nights haven't budged (i.e. BC CL) but I just wasn't comfortable re. my last 2 nights being onsite at Disney (:scared1:can't believe I've said I don't want to stay onsite for my last 2 nights!), so I have now booked the Waldorf Astoria - after 6 days/nights in the parks, my last 2 nights will be spent being pampered at the spa, and chilling by the pool (weather permitting).

Well in my son's case he needs to be out of the house in order for me to continue with "Real World School" ;) I just worry that one day I'll be gone and the kid still won't know how to buy groceries or cook anything other than ramen noodle soup. :lmao:

Wow! Only FOUR MORE DAYS! :cool1: I bet you're excited - better pack!

Now that sounds like a nice change. Everything I've heard about that resort makes it sound like :cloud9: I know you'll be happy with that change! :goodvibes

Make a list and don't forget:

Underwear
Chargers
Camera and accessories

The blue tiara :goodvibes

:rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

I will bring the blue tiara and wear it everywhere! I'm charging my camera right now so it's fully charged when I get to WDW. There are some things I can't pack yet, but I will as soon as I get home from work on Sunday.

I need to make a schedule of what parks to go to what day. You guys need help me make a schedule! You guys are experts!

And your sunglasses, that is what I forgot last trip and had to purchase a new pair at Disney.

And, EXTRA sunglasses. The only two times I've ever lost anything on vacation they've been expensive sunglasses (Ray Bans and Bollés) and both times were at WDW. So now I bring a cheap $10 pair from WM or Target as back-up:cool2:. Of course, now that I do that, I never lose them...

I hope everyone has a great Friday and I'll check back in later to make sure someone is packing and someone else is changing her mind:rolleyes1

Go to the WDW website's "planning" page and plug-in your arrival date in the calendar to see the park hours for the week of your trip. If you like EMH, then plan your park accordingly, if you don't like EMH, like me, because that park will be more crowded if it's AM EMH, then go to a non-EMH park that day.

Also, look at your park ADRs and plan your park around them. How many days are you there?

Thanks, I think so too - after some serious park time, and the hustle and bustle of the BC, it'll be nice to have some chill time at the WA.

That sounds absolutely divine! :cloud9:

I packed for the most part yesterday. Just need to iron some shirts. I'm worried I'm forgetting things. :(

That's why I have lists of lists of what I need to pack! :rotfl:

:rotfl: I'm basically all packed. Though my mom is buying me some new clothes for the summer so I might pack those, but I love my Disney shirts! I bought a pair of cheap sunglasses at target in the dollar section so I'm all set there. lol

I don't know if I like EMH or not. I've only ever been to WDW once and that was when I was 9. I want to go to MK on the day we arrive because it's opened 'til 2am, but I Epcot has AM EMH the next day. I will probably do mini-golfing before going to MK on arrival day because I'm hoping it will get less crowded later in the day. MK has EMH on the 9th and 12th and Epcot has EMH on the 10th. I was thinking about going to MK on the 9th and then Epcot on the 10th so I can decide which park I want to spend more time on. Also, should I follow a touring plan like the one in the Passporter's Guide or the Unofficial Guide? I know which rides I want to go on, but I don't know if there's a certain order I should go in.

I'm only going to Epcot and MK. I'm not going to waste time at AK and MGM since I don't really wanna go to either of those parks. I only want to ride ToT, TSM and RnR at MGM and EE at AK and that's it. I also have to think about my gramma. She doesn't ride roller coasters so I want to go to the parks that appeal to her. I know she will do whatever I want to do because she enjoys seeing me happy, but I also don't want to torture her and make her wait while I ride. Though for rides she won't go on, my plan is for her to stand in line with me and when it's my turn to ride, she will go to the exit and wait for me there. I would hate for her to wait for me outside of the ride and wonder if I got on the ride all right and it would be pretty boring especially if it were a long wait.

I'm only going to be in the parks for 4 days. Monday - Thursday because we are leaving first thing in the morning on Friday. I have only one ADR made and that's for the 10th at the Cali Grill at 8:00pm so my gramma and I can view Wishes from there while eating dinner.

I'm so worried I'm doing this all wrong. :sad2:

That's why I have lists of lists of what I need to pack! :rotfl:

:lmao: I should make a list, but knowing me, I will forget something. lol
