resort Change due to new dog policy

Heading to POR for thanksgiving. Now that there is the new pet policy. Was Disney able to help you relocate you?

Calling Disney direct doesn't seem to be yielding much in the way of results for folks, but if you call and they refuse to move you, what HAS been working is firing off an email directly to George Kalogrides. Check the other dog thread and there seem to be several reports of folks being moved at no additional charge (in one case up to Poly concierge).

From the responses I read they said they will do their best to give them a room away from the dog area, but not offering to move them to a different resort. I would contact guest services directly to see what they will do.

No, I asked to be moved to any other WDW resort without dogs, but they said no WDW resorts had any availability for my stay this November, so I ended up having to cancel my POR reservation and stay offsite.

Dogs are being put in specific areas of the resorts that can now be booked as 'dog friendly'. The chances of being near a room with a dog in it are slim.
And before everyone starts saying 'Well, dogs can be in the common areas now'....service dogs have always been there. People have smuggled in their non-service dogs before.
When booking a room, if you have an allergy (and I mean a severe allergy), you need to alert Disney to this. It should be noted on your reservation that you hav an allergy and will need a deep cleaning. But, you've always stood the chance of being in a room that a dog had just vacated, without the benefit of any special cleaning.

Beach Club. I'm hoping that there aren't a lot of issues with YC dogs nearby. They gave us the option of BWI or BC, but I think with all the kids we're bringing (11) BC was the way to go (though, i personally would have chosen BWI!)

Interestingly (or maybe not), the CM that assisted us in moving had at first offered us AKL or WL, which don't fit parties of 5 in standard rooms, which I told her, but she didn't seem to know. Clearly, booking isn't her normal gig.

yes, I had POR booked, but I'm taking a little offense to you calling this a loophole. Disney threw me for a loop. I contemplated paying to upgrade, but reached out to them and they took care of it because it was their mistake. You certainly couldn't do this now as the website clearly currently states that POR is a pet friendly hotel.

I'm staying at AoA at the end of the month and if I was to move, I would have to pay any difference if it's more, or get refunded if it's less.

I was able to move to Coronado Springs. My ressie was through a travel agent, so I had to have her take care of the change. As far as I know, we weren't offered an upgrade to a deluxe - possibly because we're only a party of four for this trip. I'm fine with that though, we're going right before Thanksgiving and was worried they wouldn't be able to find us a room at all - I'm thrilled we were able to move to CSR.

I'm guessing this will only be for those already booked and only in cases where the short notice make it harder to find availability elsewhere.

No offense was meant towards you. I would be pissed off as well. In fact was booked at YC but changed it like 3 weeks ago (prior to the pet announcement). But I would have been happy if I could have changed my YC reservation to Polynesian or GF at no additional cost.

Just saw the verbage on POR. It states "FOR A LIMITED TIME"
