Resort Change by Disney

Is one of the 5 an infant? SSR Studios don't even sleep 5 people lol
Nope it is 4 adults and 1 teen...The lady when we first called tried to make us accept the offer and we pointed out that it doesn't fit 5...So we are waiting to see if they will approve a change to a room that actually fits 5...

Have a Ressie for July 6-9. Haven't heard from Disney yet. Will I? Or should I assume my Ressie is as it is? I'd really rather move it down the road a bit ….but if they move me to a Deluxe, well, I'll take that and stay with those dates!

I would call before all the good rooms are taken.

A couple more questions..if we are booked for mid August, will we have to pay in full 30 days prior even if we dont know where we'll be staying?

And can you remove hopper option and decrease # of park days even though I believe these were required during BB booking?

Also, when/if you are offered a move/upgrade, do you have to decide while you are talking to CM, or do you have 24 hours etc to decide?

Unless your trip is July 4th or earlier, they are doing nothing for other guests.

The deadline for the current trips is June 12th..guests have to decide then.

Date has been changed to 7 days prior for payment,

In terms of the current policy and moves. if your resort is closed and they offer to move you because you want to keep the dates, they tell you where you are going...no choice.

I assume you will have to decide. However, even if you say yes, you can cancel later.

Cant answer ticket questions.

That is what is unfair. They should still offer the Sun and Fun discount.
Discounts are offered when their is a surplus of product in the face of demand. Currently, they are TRYING to get people to cancel and not rebook. and there is plenty of pent up demand. So I can understand why they aren't offering discounts for new reservations.

Do I think prices should be lowered across the board due to the experience being lowered? Yes. Do I think they should offer discounts in the face of pent up demand? No.

They are only modifying reservations up through July 4th at this point. Once they move to July 5th and on, you should call. My reservation begins the 5th. I've spoken to multiple CMs and they have told me that this should be happening within the next couple of days.

If NBA does stay at CSR, it will be closed through October 12th at the latest (earlier if the finals go less than 7 games, but still into early October at least) and you will almost certainly be rebooked. I would hold out for at least a 1 BR villa at a DVC resort or a move to a similarly priced room at a Deluxe resort if those open by August.

Right, so they will have to block that resort out totally until at least Oct 12th because they have no way of knowing before hand if the finals will go that late, and that's barring any delays they might encounter that would push it out even further.

Yes you are right . Sorry I told her to call forgetting they were only working on dates up to July 4th.

I have a July 7th reservation that we just want to cancel for now (going to try again next year, but not sure on dates yet). There was a 45+ minute wait time last time I tried to call, and I don’t want to try again and sit through a long wait to find out we can’t cancel the reservation yet.

You might want to check the Disney World website to see if you can cancel your resort reservation. There might be a link to cancel the reservation online - it would save you the trouble of calling. You can cancel resort reservations online for any date - hope this helps!

So not all of Saratoga has been remodeled? What about fort wilderness cabins and Old key west . This could factor into whether or not we want to pay to move.

Thanks! I did check on the site, and there’s no option to cancel, just a phone number to call. There’s also an update that our Magic Band Order is being fulfilled, so not looking forward to those showing up for a trip we can’t take and hiding them from my nephews, who are disappointed enough.

I guess I’ll give it another try on the phone. I just figured we’d hear something once the opening dates were announced, and they haven’t even gotten to us yet. Definitely frustrating.

Congress Park is the only section fully done. The Springs was being done when construction stopped, but I believe it started again.

I am going to guess that if people have been given a preferred view rooms the chances are good for CP.

My theory is that they will cluster guests at SSR and OKW into only a few sections to start. Much easier for housekeeping and everything else,

My prediction is CP for preferred and Paddock for standard, Once parks open and there are more guests, then they will open more sections,

I will say that CP is probably the most requested right now by DVC owners who booked that category since they are done!

Yes, I get it. You can also chat with a CM on the reservation website. I've asked a couple of times there if my dates are being modified yet. That keeps me off of the phone waiting for the answer. I'm hoping the next phase of modifications happens this week. I'm going a little crazy here. :P

Yep--as Sadisw said, the only section on which refurbishment is completed is Congress Park. Construction is not likely to be too disruptive though since they are doing it on unoccupied buildings. So the downside is more that you could get an older room than that there would be lots of construction noise.

The construction Fort Wilderness is really all at the Settlement area, not at the Cabins. So it won't affect you at the cabins, but it does mean construction walls etc. around the main dining venues/bus stop etc.

I have to say, if they are still moving people out of CBR at the time of our August trip, we are definitely paying for an upgrade. We normally stay at deluxe resorts and I already wasn't thrilled about CBR (but willing to try it due to the skyliner and the new port royale and pirate pool). Getting bumped to Saratoga, OKW, or Fort Wilderness would be a huge problem for me.
