Just left Hollywood Studios where hundreds of people were waiting in lines for resort buses well past the queue. What is going on? The park closed at 9pm.

Caribbean Beach, Pop Century, and the All Stars all had huge crowds still waiting.

HS and Epcot both closed at 9pm. AK at 9:30pm and MK at 10pm. I've never known all 4 parks to close within an hour...and I felt so badly for the people waiting!!

Welcome to Spring Break Season. It'll be going on until the 2nd week past Easter.

I am surprised there weren't evening extra magic hours at one of the parks though. Good luck to all who are there!

Spring break, leaving when the park closes, multiple parks closing around the same time..all a combo for long waits. Really anytime you leave a park when it closes you'll be waiting awhile. It's the norm

This is why I enjoy driving myself.

The wonderful Pop Century line that I have grown to love! I was there two weeks ago, and witnessed lines that took 5+ busses to get back to Pop.

A lot of the reason why those lines are usually longer is because those resorts have a lot more rooms than others, and they are popular because of the price.

(Hint for those that ever stay at Pop) If the line for the resort bus for Art of Animation is so much shorter than the line for Pop, take that bus. There is a bridge that connects the two resorts. I utilized it so many times on my trip two weeks ago. :)

We have stayed at Pop twice and used the AoA buses as well. Depending on where you are staying in Pop it's not even much longer of a walk.

This worked for us at MK, but backfired on us the once time we did it at EP. After waiting for 3 bus loads and still being 4-5 rows deep in the POP line at EP we hoped over to the AoA that was like 2 rows deep at that point. About 30 seconds later TWO buses show up for POP at one time and then another one for POP a few minutes after those lest before one AoA came  The lines were super crazy for POP at both MK and EP at on this last trip. They were using two stalls (numbers) for POP in MK and they were still filing out of the end of the stall.

As a previous poster mentioned . . . there is much less wait when driving yourself. We came to that realization last summer when we stayed offsite. We were around 20 - 30 minutes outside the main gate, and found that for the most part, we were able to get back to the car, and drive back to our house in the same, or less time that it typically took us to get a bus back to POR when we stayed there.

Wow, 5 + buses deep of a line. That is crazy. I was at Pop during Easter week in 2014 and it wasn't that bad! Although we generally didn't stay til closing bc my boys were only 3 and 5 at the time.

This happened to us leaving F! Going back to AoA September 2015. We waited in a line beyond the queue, watched 4 buses come and go, and got a text from my friend that drove herself to her offsite condo that she was getting out of her bath and going to bed all before we got on a bus.
Now we drive (plus DH doesn't like the nighttime shows).

Well, all I can say is that my CM dd left DHS at park closing last night....it took her almost 2 hrs to make the 25 min drive to her apt. Getting out of the parking lot was horrendous she said! I can imagine the bus waits are awful.

I have a co-worker who came back to the office today from a week at WDW last week. She had the exact same complaint. Said that bus service was terrible going to and from the parks (she was at POR). I tried to explain that was just a product of spring break crowds..

I agree that these instances make having your own vehicle a much better option!

This is one of the reasons we decided to drive this year. I don't mind waiting on line for rides and characters, but I hate waiting on TSA, ME and buses!

We did that as well one night when we were there 2 weeks ago. We were getting on the bus for AoA and the people who were initially behind us in the Pop line were still far back in the line.

Ugh ! That is awful! Keep your chin up folks who are there this week!!!

This is why we split up after Fantasmic the last time we went. We made a plan. I would jet out of F! right after the show let out and go straight to the bus line. DH, my mom, and my boys came quickly but had to stop and get the stroller and make it through the crowd with said stroller. They got to the bus stop just as the first bus was pulling up and we all got right on.

And THIS is why big back-ups happen. People getting in line and then having the rest of their family dawdle and jump the line.
