Hello all,

Does anyone know if you can hop to a different resort from the one we're staying at, in order to get an ealrier bus to the Port Canaveral?

We're staying at Beach Club, but I see the bus to PC doesn't leave until 11:45am, while the one from the GF leaves at 11:15, which could make a difference with Palo & Spa reservations on board.

If I made it to GF in the morning, would I be allowed to board the bus there, or am I stuck with the Beach Club bus?

Thanks, and take care,

Bill

You have to specify in your transfers where you will be boarding the bus, if not from the resort where you are staying. Also, you will need to arrange transportation from Beach Club to GF. The WDW busses will NOT allow you to carry your luggage on them.

When you stay at a resort that doesn't have DCL service, the bellmen are very helpful in taking you to the nearest resort with DCL busses, but since that isn't the case here, you are probably looking at a cab.

Depending on the number of guests at each resort going to Port Canaveral, you could actually end up on the same bus. That's not likely with GF and Beach Club....but the bus could pick up at GF and Poly. If there are enough guests to warrant it, each resort will have it's own bus. If not, they will be scheduled to hit a second resort.

A couple of other thoughts....we don't know if you are on a 7 day or shorter cruise. I've never had any trouble getting any Palo or spa ressie I wanted--we normally drive, but have done the DCL transfers. That's not a bad record on 10 Magic cruises. The ressies do go faster on the Wonder as there are the same number of cruisers and essentially half as many ressies.

Also, if there are more than 2 in your party, you might want to consider a private limo (at least for that leg of the trip.) The "break even" point for the limo is generally 3 adults. By the time you paid for the DCL transfer and the cab to get you to GF, it would probably be cheaper to just do a private service. That way, you can leave WDW whenever you like.

Hello,

Thanks for the quick reply.

We would only be taking our carry-on stuff to the bus, the other luggage gets taken on separate busses, so we wouldn't be lugging suitcases from resort to resort.

On our last cruise we were picked up at the Polynesian, and it was delayed, so we didn't get there till after 1, but we also weren't planning on signing up for much besides dinner at Palo so we didn't care.

We're doing the 4 night Wonder cruise after a stay at Beach Club, and we want to book the Palo Brunch, along with a spa service for the sea day, and were worried the extra half hour could make a difference.

Thanks, and take care,

Bill

The resorts pick up your port-bound luggage the night before and hold it in the baggage area so it's ready to load the next day.

The buses from the resorts have a port-bound pickup difference of only about 15 minutes apart.

If you really want to get to the port early by DCL, go to the airport and catch the DCL bus there. It leaves before 10, I think....

Lots of work for 15 minutes, though...I chewed this problem in May but all the other options ended up being not worth the hassle. I asked a DIS-er on my cruise I met on the cruise meets board to make a Palo reservation for me since they were getting there early....Worked like a charm.
