Can anyone help me...I have trouble walking due to a bad knee. I rented ECV in parks but distance from park entrance to bus last year for POP was very difficult. Which bus stops are closest at each park? I am palnning trip for Jan 2009 and want to make the right choice of resort. I am wanting CBR but only is bus stop is reasonable.

Hi Judy:

You might want to consider renting an ECV from an off-site provider. I'm sure that if you check the transportation or DISabilities boards someone will have a reference.

One of my friends did that for their Thanksgiving stay and it worked out beautifully. Her step-dad's ECV was waiting for them when they got to the Poly and he had full use of it at the resort and the parks.

Just an idea if you're planning to rent one anyway at the parks.

I just wanted to second the suggestion to rent an ECV from an offsite vendor. That way you will have use of your ECV at the resort(s) as well as Downtown Disney if you wish. Swing on by the DisAbilities board lots of folks there w/ ECV & offsite rental experience.

I'll try to post a link to the DisAbilities FAQ which has a ton of info including which offsite vendors other Dis -ers have had good experiences with. http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=595713

We have stayed at the CBR two years in a row and I have found that the theme park bus stop locations change from time to time. I know that the CBR stops were different in 2007 than what they were in 2006. If the CBR stops changed, then I am sure that the other resorts would too.

The bus stops at the parks are not always the same. In fact, they will be different at each park. In some parks you will find the bus stop for POP is way off in the back, but at Studios, it is pretty close to the front. Same with the other resorts. Even the deluxe resorts can be out there a bit.
I would suggest what others have said...rent an ECV from an offsite company..then you will have it at all times.

Renting an ECV from an off-site company is your best bet. I've done three of seven recent WDW visits with leg/foot injuries and toughed it out each time. Next time I travel with an injured leg or foot, I'll rent an ECV. :thumbsup2

It will make your WDW visit much more comfortable.

multipe quoting b/c the all echo what I am going to say. check out renting ecv from offsite so you have less issue walking period it makes for a guaranteed ECV b/c if you go to a park and no ecv available then you are on a Wait list second and some peak times the wait list is well most of the day and if you hop parks there is no guarentee of one in the new park.

hope this helps
