Is it ok to use the bars and lounges at other resorts when staying onsite? I'd like to vary it up in the evenings and enjoy much of what Disney has to offer without spending all my time in the same hotel. Do some resorts have a hotel guest only policy?

DH and I have visited every bar on property except for GF & the values.

Anyone may patron the bars.

Visiting the resort bars can be fun. Last weekend we did a "monorail crawl" with some other DIS'ers, hitting the Tambu Lounge (Poly), Mizners (GF) and Top of the World (BLT) lounges between 6 and 10 pm. Lots of fun. You can hear about it on this week's DIS Unplugged Podcast.

All of the resorts are open to the public, you're welcome to visit and explore, shop, dine, drink and use the recreational facilities. The only thing restricted to hotel guests only are the pools.

Do you need to be a dvc owner to visit Top of the World at BLT?

Last time I was there we did a crawl around the monorail resorts as well :) It was alot of fun, but instead of Top of the World we visited CG right when it opened. We were staying at WL and we had one night where the bartender really new how to make an Old Fashioned - by DBF is really particular about those and he praised her and talked about it later! Another bar I absolutely never miss is Victoria Falls Lounge at AKL - the best wine selection on property in my opinion.
So overall, yes, you can visit each and every one and they all have something really special. :goodvibes

One of the most enjoyable things we did last visit was to have a drink at different resort bars. The bartenders we met were friendly and talkative, which we love. We also met a great group of retired firemen at The Gurgling Suitcase at OKW....which is not to be missed. It's tiny but you can't beat the atmosphere!

Originally you had to be a BLT owner staying on points at BLT to visit TOWL. Now DVC has opened it to all DVC members staying at any resort until the December 29th. The CMs in BLT ask to see your DVC card before they let you in the elevator.
