Resort Anxiety!!

From what I have read, POFQ is your best shot. It is small, compact, easier to negotiate than most resorts. Not two tons of walking. Great pool and food court. I hope that you folks are planning on two rooms side by side. You will be more comfy. Good luck with your planning.

Congrats on planning your first trip to WDW!

You really can't go wrong with either POFQ or POR. Both are exceptional moderate resorts, and as they are sister resorts you can enjoy what both have to offer. This year we finally get to go to the Poly, so we're even more excited about this trip then we were for our very first.

We've stayed at POR several times in the past, going for the first time back in 96 when it was still Dixie Landings, and it has been our mod of choice ever since. Not that there is anything wrong with POFQ, it's just that we liked the theming and spaciousness of POR better. Both have the boat to DTD, which is SO much better than taking a bus, so it's a toss up there. POFQ is smaller and easier to navigate, but POR isn't bad at all and you might actually enjoy your walk as the grounds are beautiful.

Once you settle on a theme, look at the resort maps and choose a building that you think will be the best location for your family. Some are closer to the main building, some the pool, and some are away from everything....our personal choice.

Don't stress too much, as you already made a great decision to stay on grounds in the first place. That decision will honestly make you vacation that much more enjoyable. Good luck in your planning!

I'll vote for POFQ!! It's a wonderful resort! Compact, lovely theming, great pool...it's not HUGE and SPREAD OUT like the other mods. That is a huge plus for me. AFter schlepping around all th day in the parks I do NOT want to do a ton more walking just to get to my room from the bus. You just hop off the bus and you are at your room in two shakes of a lamb's tail! The boat to DTD is lovely. My DH and I really enjoyed it.

It really is the best of the mods IMO. NO matter which building you are in, you are close to everything. it's as good as being in a Deluxe...just has outdoor corridors!

It's also first pick up and drop off for the buses. That was AWESOME!!!

I really love the looks of both Port Orleans Resorts and I also love the look of the Carribean Beach. It really comes down to those three for me! I love the idea of taking the boat to Downtown Disney, but I also love the tropical feel of CBR. I have heard the CSR will be having their rooms remodeled dring the time of our visit so that resort is pretty much out for me! so that narrows my choices to three. I really spend alot of my time going back and forth, thinking of benifits to each resorts i find it hard to settle on one!

I would stick with Port Orleans out of your picks. If you want a small feel go with the French Quarter.

We have stayed at the POR the last 2 years and loved it. We got a room that was close to a quiet pool, and in the afternoon, it was like our own personal pool! I can honestly say that I was happy with everything the POR had to offer!
