Does OKW have a desk for Resort Airline Check-In? Disney's FAQ just says that Resort Airline Check-In is available at "select" resorts.

TIA!

Yes. The desk is set up just outside the HH (where you check-in for OKW), on the walkway between HH and Olivia's.

It is limited to certain airlines. Check the Disney main transportation page. I know US Air is not one that you can do resort check in, at least it wasn't this past December.

Has anyone done this at OKW - it is reliable? Yes I am a control freeK???

Thanks.

Yes I have in 2006. I know that is quite awhile ago, but it was a very nice surprise at the time. We flew JetBlue and had no problems along the way. We are staying at OKW in June and plan to use this very convenient service again.

We have used it several times and it worked great. Just allow yourself plenty of time in case there is a long line. Once it took us over an hour and the last time it was around 45 minutes. The first time they had computer problems and were having difficulty printing the boarding passes. The next time the line wasn't long but the people in front of us were having some sort of problem. In my opinion, the staff running it seemed to need more training or supervision.

We have used it several times (most recently in Nov.) and it worked great. We grinned when we got to the airport and walked past the check-in lines that snaked around the airport and at the curbside stand! :thumbsup2

We used it in October..so easy. But remember anyone over 18 needs to be with you for check in. Had to go back to our room and rouse two 19 year olds out of bed at 7am....we all had a late night the last night..they came in their pjs..hair all sticking up...was too funny to watch :lmao:

We used it last Dec. '07 and all went smoothly. :thumbsup2

That is where we will end our 19 day trip this summer so that is good to hear. We are flying Delta. I know we get ME around 3 hours prior to flight but how early should we check in our luggage?

The RAC desk is open from 5:00 AM to 1:00 PM. You must check in at least 3 hours before your flight, but not more than 12 hours before.

Here's the full FAQ from the DME web site...

Hate to be negative but last July we checked our bags at BCV so we took our time getting to the airport, took our time getting to the gate and when we reached the gate our flight had been delayed. So we waited and then finally they told us that the flights were going to be cancelled and they squeezed us on a flight but could not find our bags. So when we landed of course they didn't know where the bags were and long story short it took 5 days for us to get our luggage. So we have now decided to keep our luggage with us. Good luck!!

Bummer, but it seems that could have happened regardless couldn't it? Unless you carried your bags to the gate (carry on). Check bags at the terminal, get to the gate-flight was delayed then later cancelled-bags are now in limbo.

Sorry Actually my point was that had I still had my bags when I arrived at the airport I would have had to go to bag check and I would have seen that it was delayed so I could have done something like go to lunch or whatever and I wouldn't have had to give our bags until we checked in. And if we had checked our bags ourselves they told me that they could have found our bags but Disney keeps them in a room and they couldn't get to them to put them on the plane with us.

We just used the RAC at OKW at the beginning of Feb. I was able to check us all in by myself which I thought was odd. They never asked for DH's ID. I had a problem in that they could not access our flight. We had a 2:30pm departure and they said that we were on a 10:00AM flight! After a few calls to NWA, the situation was resolved and I got us and our luggage checked in with 8 minutes to spare!:thumbsup2 FYI, what had happened was that we were originally booked on a flight at 1:00pm. NWA changed that to a 10am departure but offered us alternatives if that change wasn't acceptable. I chose to change us to the 2:30pm flight but NWA did not reissue new e-ticket numbers for the new flight. Therefore, when the RAC agent was trying to check us in at 10:45 for our flight, it was showing that we had already missed it. The RAC agent was so helpful. She gave me the number to NWA and even placed a call herself to try and straighten it out. The itinerary I had printed in front of me showed the confirmed seats on the 2:30 flight. Once the NWA agent input the new e-ticket numbers, everything went fine.

Oh, another thing to add...
Our flight out of MCO was delayed by 90 minutes which posed a problem since we had only a 45 minute layover in Memphis! We landed in Memphis 10 minutes after our plane (and the only daily flight to Grand Rapids) was scheduled to leave. Thankfully, there were a lot of us Grand Rapidians on the delayed flight so they held the plane in Memphis. When we deplaned in Grand Rapids, we had to pit stop in the potty (DD2 had a bit of an accident) and when we were walking to the luggage carousel, a NWA employee was already moving our luggage to the luggage office. ALL of our luggage arrived safe and sound without any problems. For our next trip, I made it clear that I will ONLY fly an airline that offers RAC service.

I still plan to use RAC as often as I can, because I find it very convenient to not have to worry about the bags. But here's some more food for thought from our experience last year:

We were flying US Airways, which meant we couldn't use RAC. We took the bags with us on DME, which wasn't too bad at all. I just spent the few bucks at MCO to rent a cart, then piled it high with all the bags.

When we got to the US Airways counter, we were told our flight was being delayed, because it had been over-fueled and they had to wait for the ground crew to de-fuel it. The delay would take so long, we would miss our connection. There were no other flights, on any airline, they could re-book us to that night. (Lesson #2, never book the last flight, thinking it will give you a few extra hours at the parks.)

The flight we were re-booked to wasn't until 9:30 the next morning.

Fortunately for us, my parents were visiting at the same time and they were staying a few more days. Their Marriott timeshare also had a fold-out couch that hadn't been claimed. So, we rented a car and headed there for the night.

It was nice to have our bags with us to be able to change for that night and the next day.

Just a FYI. US Air did come online with ME in January. I had heard they are in negotiations with SW also. That would please alot of people.
