I am planning a trip to Disney from December 14-December 22nd. I was hoping to stay at Pop (where we stayed over the summer). They did not have that available for a passholder discount. I am currently booked at the Movies. What can you advise? Have you stayed at the movies?

A part of me wants to upgrade and try for Port Orleans Riverside or the Caribbean Resort, but part of me wants to be FRUGAL so we can try to go again in the summer before our passes expire. What do you all think? Where would you prefer to stay?

I should add that we have the Quick service dining plan, and so food options are important to us. Also, will we be able to swim in December, or will it be too cold?

Try the resort board, they can help you out more.

We have not stayed at movies. We have done all star music and it was nice. We are staying there again this trip. Really if you are willing to walk/ drive over to music the main pool has more going on at night than Pop. I love the theming at Pop, love the water view, etc. But DD loves As music for all the stuff to do so she wins. They show movies in the pool each night, do a scavenger hunt, dance party stuff, etc.

We are from MI so we do swim in December.

I would keep movies or move to music and go again in the summer. Caribbean beach was nice but its very big and not really worth the extra $ when we stayed there last. I would pay extra for POFQ because of the boats to DTD and the small resort feel.

And if you really want Pop keep calling. I have been able to move over there closer to my date when something opened up in the past.

We have stayed at Movies and enjoyed it. We much prefer Riverside over Movies though. Much more relaxed and quiet.

I would not stay at CBR in the winter. We stayed there last xmas break, and it was not what I expected. We had chosen it for a JUne trip, but had to cancel, and the kids really still wanted to stay there. Well, the weather was cold and cloudy a lot, we only swam for 15 min. ( too cold). It just didn't have that beachy island feeling when you have coats and sometimes gloves on. We were really disappointed in it and it was also too large and we didn't like that there was a busy road so close. I wish we had saved $300 and stayed at POP. I love their rooms facing the lake and there is no extra fee for it.
We have gone swimming before in Dec. , but you just never know what the weather will be like.
