Can someone please explain to a dummy how to resize a picture. I have NO clue how to do this. Thanks!!!!

I use Nero PhotoSnap. I load the picture into the editor (File / Open) then select the Resize tool from the Toolbar. I typically am resizing so stuff loads faster on my website, so I aim for 640x480 or 480x640, which is a pretty good size for website photos. I don't mess with any of the other settings, except I always Save As... instead of just Save (I don't want to mess up my original!), and I will always click on the Settings button in the Save As... dialog, and choose a nice compression (again, so the photo loads faster) -- I typically use 50%.

Nero is available at www.nero.com.

I hope this helps.

Do you have a photo editing program, disneyfanz04?

As I said before I am a computer dummy... :teeth: ...When I open up the folder that my pictures are in it lets me see the pictures, it lets me resize back to original size(which seems to be really BIG), and it lets me close out of the program and mess with the picture but kind of like paintshop almost. Like I can spraypaint, draw, etc. on the picture, but I cannot resize & crop the pics??? Does what I am saying make any sense??? :confused3

It makes sense. Sounds like Microsoft picture and fax viewer, that lets you edit the image in MS paint. The preview is what you refer to as "it lets me resize back to original size", you are just viewing it at full size but not making actual changes to the image.

You will need to get(buy or download free version) some software if you want to resize/crop.

Google gives away Picassa(I have never used it). If you download i am sure someone here has used it and may be willing to help you out with instructions.

OK, now how do I get my photos from one user of the PC to another user??? I usually use my DH's name to do stuff on but it wouldn't let me download anything unless I was signed in with my name, now all the photos that I want to resize are under his user name and I can't figure out how to get them into my name??? :confused3 :confused3 :confused3

If all you want to do is resize your pictures go here: http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/using/digitalphotography/learnmore/tips/eschelman2.mspx and download Microsoft Image Resizer. This is an update to Windows and you do not need to open another program to use it. Just right click on your image and choose a size.

If you want to crop an image you will have to use a photo editing program such as those suggested here. Microsoft Digital Imaging also has a 30 day free trial ( http://www.microsoft.com/products/imaging/starteredition.mspx ) and it is very simple to use. My wife had me install it on her computer cause she hated messing with my Photoshop.

For accessing pictures on another users side of Windows click on "My Computer", you should see a list of folders of all users documents. Click on your husbands documents folder and his picture folder should be in there. Then you can copy them to your "My Pictures" folder.

Thanks to everyone who helped...I actually found a site that you can just resize a picture, you do not even have to download anything. Just in case anyone else wants to check it out here is the site...

The only problem with resize2mail.com is you have to upload every picture you want to resize.
