my younger dd was at a party yesterday afternoon. when I arrived to pick her up, a boy was coming out of the house with the cutest orange kitten. the kitten couldn't have been more than 4 weeks old. the boy and his mom joked that it was a "party favor." and I replied "I hope they don't have one like that for my dd."
when I got inside the house, there was a cute yellow kitten being passed around from child to child. the poor thing was getting so scared. I took her into my arms, she climbed on my shoulder and started to purr. my dd began begging to be allowed to take the kitten home.
the two kittens are "rescue kitties". the girl who hosted the parties was trying to find homes for them. her father brought the two kittens home from work after they'd been found abandoned. he thought his kids would like them, but his son is allergic and they had to give the kittens away.
I really thought about taking the poor thing. but I've already got 4 cats.
