Resident rates Affect Room Location?

I just booked Florida resident rate room... Anyone know how restictive these rates are, though? In the past, we haven't cared much about the room location, etc, but this time we're staying at Beach Club and Contemporary... I'm wondering if any request I make at these two resorts would be honored?

Like maybe a pool view at each hotel or by some miracle a resort view?? Anyone know the best way to ask for these things? And, do they get any attention when using this special rate?

I don't think having a discounted room affects whether you get a room request. If you want a special view, book that category. Don't count on getting an upgrade to a pool view when you book standard view.

I have never booked a resident rate, but I have gotten AP and code rates before. I have always had my room requests granted when booking at these rates. Go ahead and put your requests on there--just remember that they are not guaranteed.

Are you looking to make a view request or are you trying for an upgrade? BC offers standard and water view rooms. If you're paying for a water view room you can request a pool view as opposed to a view of boardwalk or Cresent Lake. If you booked, and paid for, a standard view then a pool view request is a request for an upgrade. If you just ask for a pool view its possible your request will be interperted as request, if available, to be upgraded AND TO PAY for the upgrade. If you're looking for a free upgrade I'd wait unitl checking in.
