I have a couple of questions regarding the Residence Inn.

1) Can you walk to DL from here?
2) Would you walk there (to DL) with a group of 40 high schoolers? ie is it safe?
3) Have you stayed there and how was it?
4) If walking is not an option, does the ART pick up at/near the hotel?

There are two Residence Inns near DLR. Maingate is on Clementine and closest to DLR. You could walk from there and it would take about 10-15 minutes and the ART services it as well. The one in Garden Grove on Harbor and is newer, but is not within walking distance but I believe the ART services that hotel.

I would feel safe with either of these hotels and have heard awesome reviews about both, even though I haven't stayed there myself.

We have stayed at the RI maingate numerous times, great breakfast. Easy 10-15 minute walk, ART does stop there, busy are not that big, more like a trolley. If you give them a grocery list they will pick up the items for you.

I've stayed at the RI on Harbor. As mentioned above, it is newer and quite nice. My family of six really enjoyed it, especially the breakfasts. It definately isn't within walking distance but is served by the ART. I believe the ART stop is right in front of the Hotel and it is the first stop on that particular route.

We stayed at the RI maingate in Feb. It would be a great place to stay with that many high schoolers. You'll save a ton with the free breakfast!! There's also a basketball court that I'm sure they would like. The walk is definitely doable too. My youngest is 4 and it was a bit of a struggle with her, so we usually caught the ART

We stayed at the Garden Grove one on Harbor last week, and it was fantastic. I'd definitely recommend it.

It's not walking distance though, but the ART does pick up just outside - we didn't use it as we had a car, howewver, so I don't know any more than that!

There is no shuttle that runs from RI Maingate. ART stops there and you can buy passes from ART, at the hotel or they sometimes come with package deals.
