I'm looking for an hotel for DD (17) and myself for the non-Disney portion of our trip and my first choices (JW Marriott and Renaissance) are fully booked for our dates. I'm now considering either the Peabody or the Residence Inn at Seaworld and would appreciate a little info.

How far are these hotels from Seaworld/Discovery Cove? We'll have a car but I'm worried about I Drive traffic.

How are the pools?

Is the Residence Inn a nice hotel? We don't need the 5* ammenities but we do like nice beds and bathrooms.

Thanks so much!

Jennifer

how about HGVC - Hilton Grand Vacation Club - it is across the street from SW and next door to DC.

the Peabody is very nice - but it is across the street from the convention center - so you would definitely be in traffic.

The Residence Inn Seaworld is a very nice and clean hotel. The pool is not overly large but nice and clean and heated, we went early and could get chairs, you can go in before their posted opening time. The beds were very comfortable, not rock hard as in some hotels, I was surprised that I slept without hurting. They have a great setup for bathroom, a small room with sink with lots of drawers, another door to the toilet and bathtub. There's not much to look at as a view, but that didn't bother us. Free full breakfast, but no restaurant on site.

I don't remember, but I think Seaworld was within 5 minutes drive or less. It was stinkin hot the day we went to Seaworld, so we went back to the hotel for a break and then went back that night.

They have a large laundry room in case you're interested. If you have any questions, just ask.

Hope you have a great trip! :flower:

Can you walk from there to Sea World ? I plotted it on mappquest and got something like .37 of a mile - not too far, but I read somewhere that there's no sidewalk and it's not really safe to walk it. What do you think ?

Thanks !

The Residence Inn Seaworld is an excellent choice. I believe they have a shuttle that takes you to SeaWorld/Discovery Cove. We paid $75/night and got upgraded to a 2 bedroom/2 bath unit. Very clean and cozy!
