Hi all,
I have been lurking here for a while and I was hoping you could help me out. We are going to DL next weekend Fri-Sun, and cannot decide between these two hotels. They are the same rate and both have 2 bedroom suites available, but I heard that the one at maingate is a little shabby. We will not be spending a lot of time there, but I am germ phobe. My 3 year old son has Cystic Fibrosis and we don't need any extra. Thanks for the help!

I prefer the Residence Maingate myself (look at the hotel sticky at the top for pics of it) because I like the whole look of the landscaping area - rooms are in separate bungalow types, and there is an area outside w/grass for barbecues.

However, the Residence Inn Resort Area was recently refurbished, and if you are looking for a hotel with newer carpet, decoration, etc., then you might want to consider going there. Inside, the hotel is very nice. Outside, in my opinion, it is a bit cramped because it's competing for space w/other hotels & parking.

We just stayed at maingate in August in the Penthouse suite. Very roomy, staff were very helpful, 15 min walk to the park, or you can take ART,grounds very well kept, just a very nice experience.

Have a great day.
