reserving room only at WDW the night before you arrive?

so i made the mistake of venturing onto the usa section of the forums (wow, the snark there is getting really, really prevalent) for an answer to this question...

we are looking at a red eye flight from lax that will get us to mco around 7am. this suits us fine, but we would prefer to have a room ready for us when we land, rather than waiting around til 3pm for 'regular' check in times.

i am asking whether any of you have ever been successful at booking a room only ressie for the night before your vacation (or just adding on an extra night to your vacation package) so that when you land, you have a room all ready to go and you can rest, change your clothes, have a shower etc? is this something WDW will allow? i know other hotels do, but the responses on the general WDW planning board to my question indicated that this was some sort of special request in the vicinity of asking for the moon and it would be highly doubtful that WDW would ever let people do this, and would usually consider us a no show and cancel the reservation if you don't check in by midnight on the first night....

surely international visitors would request this from time to time?? i would assume that not everyone in the world runs on the FL timetable...

if so, any tips/pointers or explanations as to how you managed to achieve this would be greatly appreciated...

problem is, if you book a room then not rock up til 8am the next day, you would have been put down as a no show.....

best thing would be to put on your resi you are arriving early and hope for the best, or book into the hyatt at orlando airport for a day room 9am -5pm..around $80 ........then go back down and get magical express for your wdw stay that afternoon.......

We booked at the Radisson Buena Park for our DL trip and because I had already signed up to their loyalty scheme we were able to check in at 8am when we arrived from the airport - if we weren't part of their scheme we'd have to pay extra for early check-in. Something like that might be worth considering if you can't book a night before without staying there.

I haven't had to do this (yet) with a Disney hotel.

But if you are planning on booking the room so that you have it available for an early check-in, the best option may be to call the hotel direct. They might be able to help you out more.

I've only done this once in the past (non Disney), but there should be no issue with the hotel if they know about your early check-in and you're prepared to pay for the night.
