Can you book CRT online using the Dining Plan credits or do you have to book it and pay a deposit? You can check "I want to use my dining plan to book reservation" but it still wants a deposit. Any advice?

Yes you have to give a credit card number even if you plan to use the dining plan. I booked it online for our trip next month and my credit card was charged. Last time we went they also charged my credit card at time of booking, but once we got to the restaurant we told them we were using the dining plan and they credited our visa card. I think this is because this is such a popluar restaurant they will charge for people who just don't show up for their reservation.

You only need to provide your credit card # as the guarantee. Did you link your package reservation # to your dining? If you do that first, it will not charge your credit card.

You can't book online without your CC being charged, even if you link your dining plan. But if you call, they will link your dining plan and they will only use your CC as a guarantee if you're a no-show.

I booked my reservation online. I just clicked the link "yes, I want to book reservation using dining plan", then it prompts you to enter your CC information. Your card is NOT charged, it's only used as a guarantee. If you forget to click the link saying you want to book with your plan, you will be charged.

Thanks everybody, I got the job done. I checked "I want to use my dining plan to book a reservation" and it did ask for my credit card but it said that they would not charge my card. We are taking our 15 yo granddaughter and her friend to WDW the week before Christmas. The friend has never been to WDW before and when my granddaughter told her you could eat in Cindrella's Castle, the friend just couldn't believe it and wished we could eat there, so here I am trying to make a wish come true :santa:. I was so happy that there were reservations still available at this late date.

Good! I'm glad that you found availability and didn't have to pay for it. :yay:

I would double check your credit card. It most likely will still be charged. Mine was even though I checked the box. You can call the dining line and have it removed before you go or you can wait til you get there and the restaurant will remove the charge. Sometimes the dining line will tell you you may lose your reservation if they refund your card now. (you just need a different cast member)
