Reserved seating for Fantasmic?

Those were the days
The seating system on the balcony was easier. Names were called just before showtime (in order of original reservation) to select a seat. The balcony was much smaller, and the Disney Gallery was the waiting area (both are now part of the Dream Suite).

That does sound better.

I can't remember what happened, but we were kind of late showing up to get our seats and they weren't going to be great. They let us have the option of coming back to the later show and I think we picked our seats right then. It was irrelevant though because it was only my family at the later show and maybe one other family.

wow, so not many people at the 2nd showing? What month was that? Do you remember the specific week or day? Though I think Fantasmic only runs once during the mid-week Feb that I am planning on going. So probably doesn't matter.

I love the Fantasmic show and have participated in the dessert seating twice. I see no reason for DL to not assign seats when people call. How hard would that be? It is crazy to expect people to pay for the convenience and then inconvenience them by making them wait in line to choose seats. The first time we waited in line and had front row seats. The second time we didn't wait and got stuck in the second row behind tall people. It was a poor view and we had to keep shifting in our seats to watch the show. This year I will have to stand in line to not get stuck doing that again. To all the DLR employees lurking on this thread, come on and get this mess straightened out! At the very least, go back to the old balcony system where you call names by date of reservations before the show and let them pick the seats then.

I believe in Feb that Fantasmic only shows on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, not midweek.

I was considering Friday as midweek. Which isn't accurate for Disneyland terms. lol. But thanks for reminding me as I may need to rethink the days I am planning on for Disneyland as it will be combined with a trip to Knott's and Universal.

I agree. I called as soon as was humanly possible once our dates opened up for the Tomorrowland Terrace Dessert Party at WDW and was rewarded with the most amazing table right at the rail. They seat that Dessert Party (for Wishes) the same way they do tables at Hoop Dee Doo Revue - in order of booking. The earlier you book, the better your seats.

I don't see any reason why Disneyland couldn't do the same thing here. :confused3
