I have been reading tons of info here about Emerald Aisle. My head is starting to swim!

Ok, I just reserved, last Friday, an intermediate on Emerald Aisle, arriving on Oct. 11. Do I have to take an intermediate or can I choose from the full size aisle? And I can go over to A or B terminal to choose, right? I've got to get all the facts down here!

I am also interested in an answer to your question. Also, can I ask you something? I reserved EA, and there is no "Concession fee" listed on my reservation. But when I was playing with codes, without the EA number, there was a 9 1/2 % concession fee for airport rentals. Does your reservation show this? I just don't want to get there and get a big surprise. Any recent EA renters out there? CAn you tell me if your quote had the fee?

If you reserved EA intermediate you can ONLY take cars from either the Intermediate or EA aisles. If you take a car from the full size aisle you may (and probably will be) charged an upgrade fee. If you need a full size I recommend you change to a full size reservation and just pick up a car from that aisle. (Note: EA reservations are all intermediate now.)

There is a concession fee charged on all Orlando airport rentals.

I'm pretty sure if you reserve an intermediate, you can take whatever you find on the EA aisle. EA aisle is suppose to have only intermediates but sometimes there are other classes of vehicles. If you reserve any other size vehicle (excluding intermediates), you would go to Emerald Reserve aisle and pick up whatever is available in the aisle of the class you reserved.

You can go from A to B terminal but from what I understand, they're on two different floors and in different buildings. You would probably be better off to look in side of the terminal that your plane landed at. The vehicles are pretty much the same in both terminals unless you're landing real late in the evening and there's not much to choose from where you are.

As far as the concession fee goes, I've played with my reservations trying various codes for better prices and always get the fee. I'm an Emerald Club member too. Not sure what the answer to that would be.

Maybe when Gail returns, she can help out better than I can.

Hi,
Just back, rented from the EA, lots of full size cars there. Here is how the EA works.

Bypass the counter when you reserve any car!

Introducing new Emerald Reserve Service, exclusively for Emerald Club® members. Beginning March 15, 2003, whether you reserve a fullsize car, SUV, minivan or any other vehicle, you’ll be amazed at the speed and convenience of this new service. With Emerald Reserve, you’ll be able to reserve any car type, excluding intermediate. When you arrive at the location, you’ll bypass the counter, go directly to the row of the car class reserved, choose any car and drive away. It’s that easy!

When making intermediate car reservations, please continue to go directly to the Emerald Aisle® and choose from any available car as usual – all at the price of an intermediate. You may still find vehicles on the Aisle that are larger than intermediate (including fullsize), but if they need to guarantee a specific car class, simply use Emerald Reserve Service.

This is explained on their site. Go to the welcome screen, click on the link for Emerald Reserve and the explaination is there.
