This is our first time to US/IOA. Where do we need to make dining reservations? We are going the last week of May, 2013. I heard there is character dining and special seating for the fireworks show? Is this worth it? Any other special reservations like those that can be made? HP?

you can make reservations for dining when you are closer to your dates.

i don't make ressies in advance but do make them the day of most of the time.
kind of depends on where you want to eat.

i don't find many places that are unable to seat me as a walk up.


lombards has a dining program for dinner and cinema spectacular show.
you do make a ressie and pre pay for the dinner.
then you return at a time period to watch the cinema show later that night.

some who have gone say it is a good thing, others don't.

i found great viewing areas that were not at the Lombards dock.

another pre paid one is the breakfast at the Studios.
this is a character breakfast.

character dining is rotated between the three onsite hotels for the dinner hour during the week.
no special menu as you order off the regular menu and characters are there between 5-7 for the diners entertainment.

I use open table for all my universal dining. Easy to change or cancel as needed. Places like mythos do sell out of ressies for popular dates/times. The only places I liked enough to do on my next trip were margaritaville (love the ribs!) and the Kitchen at HRH
