This is our first time at Disney (first week May 2010)...when should I start making our dining reservations?:surfweb:

Not sure what day in May you are going but as soon as you hit the 180 day mark, make your reservations! You can always change them if needed but the more popular restaurants book up fast.

this calculator to determine when your 180 day is. You'll find that for the first half of May the 18 day mark is already here.

If you are staying at a Disney owned resort you will be able to make ADRs 180 days from your check in date for the next ten days. If you are not staying at a Disney owned resort, ADRs can be made 180 days from that date.

We are going the first week of May (beginning May 1) and I made my ADR's on Nov 2nd. I hate making my ADR's so far in advance but we are taking a first time visiting child and I wanted to make sure we got character meals for her.

Welcome to the DIS! You should try to make your ADRs as soon after the 180 Day mark. Are you staying onsite? If so, then you can make all of them (10 days worth) on the 180 day mark of your arrival date. If not, then you will need to make each reservation at the 180 day mark for each seperate day. Hope this helps.

As soon as you are able. Don't feel stressed to stick to EMH and all of "the plans." Just make your reservations where you want to go and work around it. Of course, do the EMH you want to do, too. I'm just saying, don't stress about it. Enjoy your vacation. You are in for a wonderful time!

You are going to have SO much fun at Disney in May! I would go ahead and think about where you want to eat and make ADR's now. Planning can be so much fun! For me, that's one of the perks of a Disney vacation...the vacay starts months ahead with all the planning. As long as you make ADR's now, you'll be able to change with the security of knowing you have some made already. Have fun planning and looking around on the Dis!

Definitely make them 180 days out; you can change them later if necessary.

Can you make them online from your date of your stay at disney or do you still have to call and make them all if you want to book for your whole stay.
