Reservations? We don't need no stinking reservations, we do it TODD'S way! COMPLETE

LOVING your reviews!! :lovestruc

About that presspot coffee...
Disney inspired me to go out and buy the SAME one they serve (the 8 cup...)
DH & I LOVE It, and use it everyday...it is especially perfect for two people.
Coffee comes out SO much better than the drip..

You have also inspired me to try Nine Dragons, and *maybe* the next trip AFTER the next trip that I take my dad, go ressie-less :hippie:

There is nothing like a good cup of coffee! I will admit a ressieless vacation has its ups and downs..I would never chance it during a peak season thats for sure!

Great reviews!!!! Your husband sounds like mine in not wanting to make reservations and just walk up to everything. Of course with 5 people we are much harder to seat. I'd love an adult only no reservations trip. Walking along the river sounds lovely and romantic.

Thank you! I think you are right, walk ins for 2 people is much easier...they can squeeze us in the tiniest corner...and in 2 places they did!

You got into Tony's as well!! :worship:

How many more walk ups did you guys get?

One more walk up...I was going to post last night but my computer blew up on me and tonight I get the lucky chore of shopping for a new one.

Sanaa is fantastic. I have a lunch review in my October '10 dining reports.

I am so happy to hear that...we are going to try it on our last full night in Oct

Same here!! I think I am going to cancel.....Bummer.....I have eaten their twice before..first time, excellent..2nd time..not so much :confused3

Was going to give it another try, but never mind!!

We made it official too and cancelled our Fultons ressie...just dont want to take the chance that it wont be as good. There is a fancy dancy place here on the Island called Marco Polo and they have king crab legs that they crack for you...very expensive but I have a gift certificate so I will just take Todd there for his fix.

We are not going on the food plan this trip and I'm already stressed about it. I cannot imagine not have ADR's. But you have show us that it can be done!
I take my hat off to you........

Yes it can be done, you have to be very flexible (although everything he wanted he got...so far....) and patient....two things that come very hard on my end!

Nicki, Thanks so much for doing this trip report. It is so enjoyable and made a day up at the front desk just fly by!!!Thanks again Elaine

Hi Elaine! You are very welcome, I appreciate you reading along!

Just popping in to say BYE for a few days !!Lake George is calling !!! I promise to post some pix of the trip!! Of the 5 groups going each having 2 escorts , 5 escorts are my friends sooooo this should be a humdinger of a trip!!:rotfl2:T for Trouble signing off !!!!:rotfl2:

Have fun Rosie! Stay out of trouble...or not! :rotfl:

Ot has been said, but I gotta say it again, Todd is the Man :worship: I am very impressed with his mad dining skilz!

Thanks for listing the drink ingredients. I see many that i wish to try. Sorry the heat got to you so much. no fun at all. I can do heat-obviously since I live in Az-but Florida humidity heat is a whole different beast.

Good morning Mary! Before you say that see what I post for our last day! I never remember whats in the drinks so I have to take a picture of the menu. Some were great for very hot days.

I just read your whole report and I loved it :thumbsup2 I can't wait for the last few updates. You two are HILARIOUS and I love how he keeps getting you into restaurants without reservations. They're pretty decent places too! I love the conversations you guys have - so funny! I honestly would love to go on this kind of trip. I would definitely be in your position.. always thinking about the next meal! :lmao:

I am so glad you enjoyed it! The two of us together...we we are a couple of nut balls thats for sure!

As always, seems like I'm late to the party. But I just found your review last night and it is better than ever! Love reading your TR's. You and Todd are so funny.

Some of the meals you have had have blown me away. Your Shrimp PoBoy looked absolutely amazing. Your dinner at CG had me drooling all over the place. The pasta at Tony's is exactly what I would order. And that Chocolate Martini. . . . is it too early in the morning for one of those bad boys???????

Again, loving the pictures and the frivolity (is that right :confused3) of the discussions between you and Todd. Can't wait to see what is up next. :flower3:

Its not over yet so didnt miss a thing :thumbsup2

We had some wonderful meals on this trip, I hope we have the same delish ones in Oct. Our last day is coming right up!

Our last day...sooo sad! We were going to stay until 4 and then drive to Sarasota for the night, Todd had a meeting the next day and it just made sense to do it that way. We went down to the food court around 8 or so and then we were going to go back to the room, shower and pack and have bell services hold the bags for us. Taking a bus to the park and leaving the car at the resort was the smart thing to do, it was so hot out I didnt want anything to melt or explode

The food court wasnt too busy and there were plenty of seats. I wanted to get some more scrambled eggs and a croissant..that was pretty good. Todd said he would share it with me and get a cinnamon bun. We met up at the cashier and he had this on his tray

DisneyMay068.jpg

Me: What the heck? You dont like those remember?

Todd: But they smelled so good and everyone else was getting them

Me: So if everyone else jumped off the bridge you would too?

Todd: No silly, you know I cant swim.

OY!

He also had his cinnamon bun...for crying out loud how many carbs does the boy need??

DisneyMay060.jpg

I was the good girl and got what I said I was going to

DisneyMay093.jpg

As we sat down he immediately started digging in to the beignets. He looks at me and says, I dont really like these...you want em?

Uh no, I dont want em because I think they are pretty blech

He passed on those and went right to the cinnamon bun, he devoured it and didnt leave me a crumb

Me: HEY! Where's my bite? I always get a bite!

Todd: Sorry...why dont you go get us another one

Seriously? Why dont you get us one you little oinker!

My eggs and croissant were fabulous, very soft and creamy eggs and a perfect croissant

Todd: Pass that tray over here....hey Nic, gimme a bite

Me: Why dont you go get us another order?

Todd: You are just plain mean

But there portions are too big and I knew there was no way I would finish it all so I passed the tray to him.

While we sat there finishing tea and coffee our discussion naturally led to our day at Epcot. We have not been to the Caramel House yet and I knew he was dying to go.

Me: So what are your plans for Epcot

Todd: I was thinking hibachi

He means Teppan Edo, again names he has no clue but food items he is dead on about

Me: :sad2: I really dont like TE and you just had hibachi for your birthday dinner a few days ago (Now I love hibachi and TE food is ok but I think TE is just a rip off and for a heck of alot less money I can eat at the local joint and get alot more food and fried rice)

Todd: My birthday trip, my rules remember? You said it yourself! You know I can eat hibachi every day of the week

Me: So that you listen to but when I ask you to take out the trask like a hundred times you dont hear it? There is no way we are going to get a table.

Todd: Thats what you said the summer we went and just walked in (again that he remembers but our anniversary??? Fugghettabout it)

I whip out the Iphone and check Disney dining....nothing available. I call Disney Dining, nothing available. We stop at the conceirge desk...nothing available. See a pattern here?

Me: You better have a back up plan

Todd: No worries...we are getting in

So...do you think we got in or do you think I finally get to say the words every single wife out there wants to say

I TOLD YOU SO!

I am sitting here with tears running down my cheeks from laughing so hard. I can JUST hear Todd saying this.

Comments in red above.

I cannot believe this is almost over. :sad2:

All I know after reading your reviews is that I wish September would hurry up and get here. We miss you guys so much and I can't wait to see where you are taking us in September!

I really hope you didn't get in, just so it wrecks Todd's perfect streak. :lmao: Just remember next trip it's your birthday, so he has to do what you want! :rotfl:

I laughed out loud at your breakfast experience and the interaction between you two. At least you were right about the Beignets and haha on him remembering certain info and forgetting the rest!

I am going to guess you guys walked into TE - after all DH has had amazing luck so far!

DisneyMay068.jpg

We buy these every trip to New Orleans and they are amazing! I dont know about POFQ cause we have not tried them there but the REAl ones are Darn Good!

So...do you think we got in or do you think I finally get to say the words every single wife out there wants to say

I TOLD YOU SO!

I HOPE SO :rotfl2:

Loving your reviews! :goodvibes I really enjoy the back and forth between you and Todd.

Thanks Kathy! One more post and then I am done :upsidedow

Not that I want your well-formulated plans to go awry ;), but I would love to see you get just one "I told you so!" moment!

Well kids, this is it, its the big one (picture Chevy Chase in Xmas vacation getting his bonus - that is our fave movie of all time)!

Arriving at Epcot at 11am is not a good thing. Why you ask? Because the heat is insane! Walking from the bus stop to the park entrance left me like a limp dish rag!

We decided to go straight to Teppan Edo and see if they had any openings. Of course they didnt. I thought this as the end of it, I thought he would pick something else, and again (say it with me people) I THOUGHT WRONG

Me: So what is your back up plan? Where else do you want lunch? Lets just go to Tangierine Cafe

Todd: Nah, I dont want meatballs again, lets go do the Donald Duck thing (he means the ride in Mexico) and the ride that looks like me (he means Maelstrom because as you board the ride there is a painting and he looks just like the little blue eyed blond kid on the wall, well he did when he was younger!)

Me: Babe, its hot, I am dying here in case you havent noticed.

Todd: We'll pick you up a drink, you'll be fine

Way to care babe!

At China we got a Peach Oolong Ice Tea...this was good but it was warm and took 2 cups of ice to get it cold and it was a bit too sweet for me but he liked it. I grabbed a water.

DisneyMay110.jpg

We did Mexico, yes they had openings for lunch but no we would not need it...YET. We did Norway, we walked back to China, no he doesnt feel like that. NO I dont want Germany, the thought of all the heavy food in this heat? We huffed it back to Japan...by this point I am ready to collapse and I am not hungry one bit. It is a little after noon.

So we arrive at TE...DH asks if we can be seated. They told us no, they are booked solid with no openings at all for the day.

Me: Will you get it through your thick skull...we are not getting hibachi today.

Todd: Well maybe not here but I will get it in Sarasota tonight, there is one across from the hotel

So he sorta kinda wins this but it doesnt count because it isnt Disney!

Me: Where are we going because honestly I not hungry and I want to just go...its too hot for this

Todd: Lets go get pizza

 He tells his lactose intolerant wife to get pizza????

Me: But what will I eat dear?

Todd: The bones (he means the pizza crust)

Me: Always thinking of me arent ya babe? You want Via Napoli? You didnt like it the last time

Todd: But you didnt like Nine Dragons and you did this time..ever think you are wrong?

Me: Gee thanks loads...but it doesnt matter, we are not getting in

Todd: How do you get that to go away?

Me: What?

Todd: That black cloud over your head?

If you saw a guy doubled over in pain around Japan - USA that was him...after getting a sharp elbow to the gut :rotfl:

As we approach Via Napoli we see a pizza take out window. GREAT! He can have that and I can have Moroccan food! But no, it wasnt to be, they have thick Sicilian slices (my favorite) and he doesnt like that, he prefers thin crust.

I didnt care anymore, I just wanted out the heat! :lmao: We enter VN and guess what...we are seated right away. I just need to never doubt the boy and his Disney talent again but I will always rub it in his face that he couldnt get TE, even though I was happy he didnt!

Our server was the one we had in February and while we remembered him he didnt remember us. We shared a large bottle of Aqua Panna water and they brought us out bread. Hard, cold, dry, stale bread....and oil. We didnt eat it at all.

DisneyMay109.jpg

DisneyMay112.jpg

Around this time I start chewing on my Lactaid, you are supposed to eat it right before you have any dairy. I told him to order what he wanted, I wasnt that hungry so dont go crazy.

His first appie was tomatoes and mozzarella. He ate all the cheese, I had half a tomato and all the basil. It was excellent

DisneyMay116.jpg

His second appie was the fried veggies. This is the most delish thing I ate the entire trip. There were 2 huge mushrooms, zucchini and lots of artichokes. The batter was super light and not greasy at all, the veggies were so tender but the marinara that went with it? That was liquid gold my friends, I could slather it on a tennis shoe and eat it thats how good it was! So fresh and flavorful, I wish I could take a vat home with me!

DisneyMay114.jpg

He decided a cheese pizza would be perfect to share and it was, I just had a slice and one of his crusts. It was the same wonderful pizza we had back in Nov, very tasty, full of flavor and sauce and cheese...just YUM! I was dipping the crusts in the marinara sauce from the veggies.

DisneyMay113.jpg

Neither of us felt like dessert, we were way too full from lunch and I was still overheated. As we were sitting there waiting for the check I got a headache
and I knew it was from the heat.

On the way out we were walking to France because I wanted him to see the French Impressionist movie but I really didnt feel well and I knew the Lactaid didnt work...so the next time we go for VN I am going to just order a cheeseless pizza!

....Todd told me I looked like death (gee thanks hon). I told him it would pass...but in that movie all I wanted to do was lay down and die.

We caught the boat back to Mexico...I told him to get off in Germany for his caramel and he said forget it, he was full and it would melt and we will be back in 5 months for it and he would get his fill then (I believe it).

And that was the end of our trip...did you notice how Todd didnt have any snacks this trip....no pretzels, no caramel corn, nada, zilch, zero? I think it was the heat....we are just not used to going to WDW and suffering 95-96 degree temps.

As we were driving to Sarasota we discussed our Oct trip..my defenses were up, this was my trip after all.......but that didnt help!

Although I really want an unbeaten streak - as a wife and mommy I am hoping you won this one Nicki!
Those cinnamon buns look great - I also am a huge cinnamon bun fan -my favorite breakfast ever! Just so sad they seemed to change at the Main Street Bakery....
I cannot wait for your caramel shop review... that is now always a must do!

If you bet on the boy tweaking my Oct plans you just won!

The plan is to stick with the POFQ because we love it so much...that much is staying the same.

We still have TS for every night but they changed around a bit...we now have

Boatwrights
Artists Point (new for us - in place of Flying Fish)
Citricos
Cali Grill
Le Cellier
Mama Melrose
Kouzzina (new for us - in place of Cape May Clambake)
Tutto Italia
Rose & Crown (new for us)
Sanaa (new for us - in place of Fultons)

I do have 2 breakfasts, Kona and Cape May and 1 lunch...it was supposed to be Chefs but we are going back to Via Napoli and I am going to be the only Italian girl to order a cheese pizza and hold the cheese! Just cover that puppy in sauce and basil and fresh sliced tomatoes!

So do you think we will stick to this? :lmao:

Thank you guys for following along with us on the wild trip...I hope never to repeat one like this again but if I have to just to make my husband happy....well....I'll think about it!

I don't think you'll stick with all your ADRs, since your trip is five months away, and you're like me and always think of somewhere else you'd rather eat. But you must eat Kouzzina! I still can't believe you haven't been there yet, and it is quickly becoming one of my favorite restaurants on property!

Well, this is the one meal you DID NOT tell me about when we talked on the phone or texted. I am so glad to hear that Via Napoli is back to being on the "good list" because, as you know, Romeo and I have a dinner ressie in September and we really want to try it. But I was a little worried after your last review (and you know I trust your total judgment on these things).

I'm sorry you weren't feeling well on your last day. I think you were having Starbucks withdrawal.

What was with Toddle Duck and no snacks?

Your new line-up sounds great. We really like Rose & Crown. I'll be curious what you think of Artists Point as that is one we keep talking about.

It was fun...as always...reliving your trip with you and Todd.

Love your dining reports!!! You guys are so amusing and with all your great pics you're always such a help with deciding dining for our trips!

Thank you for sharing and proving that a no ADR trip is possible!! :worship: not necessarily for the faint of heart but possible without going counter-service all the way. You really had some good meals. :thumbsup2

Plans for Oct look great. Can't wait for the F&W info to be released. :hyper:

In fairness, I was able to walk up to Via Napoli twice in December. :)

I think you guys will love Sanaa!

We still have TS for every night but they changed around a bit...we now have

Boatwrights - yeah! On my summer walk in list! :rotfl2: Thanks Todd!
Artists Point (new for us - in place of Flying Fish) - good choice - loved it last year!
Citricos - nice one!
Cali Grill - YES
Le Cellier - can't wait to try the "new" LD in summer - good choice!
Mama Melrose - been there, going back :lmao:
Kouzzina (new for us - in place of Cape May Clambake) - wonderful restaurant - we LOVE it! Hope you're going to like it too!
Tutto Italia - good food, cute waiters!
Rose & Crown (new for us) - love it there! Real nice "british" food! :thumbsup2
Sanaa (new for us - in place of Fultons) - and you picked another one of our favourites!

I cannot believe that you picked all restaurants we have been to as well! :woohoo: - and we actually enjoyed them all! :thumbsup2

I made some comments next to your restaurant choices! ;)

I cannot believe you are already done with your reviews, girl! :sad2: Can you stay at WDW with us some time - I mean a 4 week trip - oh how wonderful would that be! :cloud9:

And btw I did juggle around a lot of my ADRs and some of them are just backup as we want to "kind of wing it" the second part of our WDW stay. Thanks to Todd that should work well (okay, we did the same thing last summer - had ressies, cancelled them day of, and went somewhere else). ;)

Thanks for the reviews and the laughs, Nicki, my friend! They were wonderful as always!
Hope to see you again soon! :goodvibes

I'm so sorry your reviews have come to an end. Bummer! Glad you had a great time except for the heat I suppose! As I said before, I'm not sure I'll be up to our next summer trip in June. Its definitely a pain when you have school age children (8th grade next year) and you can't take them out of school unless you want to be hung by your ears! :rotfl2: Would you mind sharing what your Top 10 restaurants at WDW are? I'd love to know. I know it won't be Teppen Edo. :rotfl: Can't wait for your fall reviews!!!!!!!!! Thanks for sharing your reviews with all of us!
