So, my friend and I are traveling at the same time and we both usually get studios. We are looking at booking a 2br instead together so that we have more room and the kitchen. My question is how to book with our points and member services. Because we own at different resorts....to be together it would have to be in the 7 month window. Will member services split the points between our 2 accounts, or will I have to book say the first 3 days and him the last 3 days? The reason I ask is if we can book and split from the first day....we're not playing the 7 month gamble twice.....3 days apart. Hypo thetically...if the room totals 100 points, would they take 50 and 50 from each account (I know a 2br would be more than this...just easy math for example) or would it have to be a full night from one account?

Sorry, they won't split points for reservations between you and your friend. Your choices are either to each separately reserve 3 days as you suggested or for one of you to transfer points to the other one, assuming neither one of you has used your once per year transfer privilege. Also, assuming that you trust the other person and won't be changing your mind about the reservation (because the transferred points would stay with the person they were transferred to).

Trust is not an issue at all. The transfer is an issue though. Covid screwed my plans up as I had transferred my 2021 points into 2020.....so I ended using the 2021 point in 2020 and banking 2020 points to 2021. This trip falls under my 2022 UY so I couldn't use any of those 2021 points. I rented them out.....and used the money to transfer in 2021 points from someone else. So I've used my transfer already for that use year....but since this trip falls under 2022 use year.....could we do the transfer?

It's one transfer per use year, either into your account or out of it, but not both in the same use year. So if neither of you made or accepted a transfer for your 2022 use year, you can do the transfer.

To add, just be sure that the transferred points will be good for the trip because they can not be borrowed. UY will matter if each of you has a different one. For example, say you are traveling in July 2022. You have a June UY and your friend has a Sept UY.

If you transfer your June UY points to the friend with the Sept UY, the points..since they keep their own UY, would be eligible to use for a July 2022 trip because it is in the June 2022 UY. However, if you did it the other way, and the friend transferred you their Sept 2022 UY points, you could not use them for the July trip, because those would need to be borrowed and transferred points can not.

Thank you. I thought transfer was off the table until I looked it up and the points I transfered in were Aug 2021. He's a Feb UY...mine are June so we are good for that. He was looking at studio and we started considering a 1 br instead of a studio when I talked to him about the idea of splitting a 2br lockoff. Doing the transfer we can still get a 1br and studio but together....and we can split the points savings. Now we just have to hope something is available at the 7 month mark. Thanks everyone
