Reservations prior to membership

i am currently pending rofr on a vwl resale. my question is whether i can make a "cash" reservation and then transfer over to points when (assuming) my membership is complete. would that "hold" the dates i am interested in?

The only "cash reservation" you can make would be to make a reservation just like another member of the public. You could do that, and then once you're in the DVC system check for availability, make a point reservation then cancell the other....it would not really hold the dates, as CRO (central reservations) and DVC room inventories are not the same.

Cash reservations cannot be "converted" to points or vice versa. They come from 2 separate inventories of rooms.
