Reservations on the dining plan?

Hi All! I am a new member and thought I would start right out with my questions! I have a million of them.

I know that if you want to make a reservation for a character meal, you need to put the cost on your credit card at the time of the reservation. Is this the same if you get the DDP? Do I need to pay up front or can I just call and make the reservation?

There are only a few meals where you either pre pay or put down a deposit - CRT, Norway princess meals (I think), dinner shows. The bulk of character meals require no deposit. However, if you are on the DDP and are booking a meal that requires pre pay, just let the CM know you are on the DDP and they will not charge your CC, however they may take the CC number as a guarantee in case you don't show.
