Hi-
I just made an offer on OKW this afternoon that was accepted. Some of the reasons why we chose OKW was because of the large room sizes, low maintenance fees, and because we usually don't make formal plans to Disney (non- DVC resorts) until about 3- 4 months out. My kids are 2 and 3 and in the past we have visited during the low times in the year (September and November).
What I would like to know is should I plan on making reservations for my trips ( Sept. or Nov.) with DVC earlier in advance than 3- 4 months? Is it difficult to obtain reservations at BCV, BWV, or VWL in that period of time (3- 4 mos.) during low seasons? Part of what I like about Disney is the different resorts they have to offer. I look forward to trying different resorts even though I have a home resort.
Also, does the DVC resorts always seem to be full throughout the year? It would seem it would have to be that way if Disney has sold out of points at each particular resort (except SSR). Or has Disney allotted a certain number of rooms to be available to the general public?
Did I mention that I'm excited about owning? I am.
