Reservations for Disneyland Hotels ?

New to the DVC, just bought in May. Because of business, my wife and I will be in the L.A. area at the end of June next year, so we are planning to take some vacation time to visit Disneyland. The current point chart for making reservations at the Disneyland hotels is for 2008. It is my understanding from reading these boards, that those point rates change each year. Am I correct on that? Which leads to the question, if I make a reservation this year at the 11 month mark (for June/July 2009), or as soon as the hotel will accept reservations through MS, will they know what the new points are, or will I be able to get the reservation based on this year's point chart? TIA

MS usually has the point charts earlier than they are posted so they'll know at the time of reservation.

You'll be able to book a reservation at any of the 3 DLR hotels as soon as the point amounts are set for 2009. My experience has been the same as posted by ACDSNY, i.e., MS will have have the point information before it is posted on dvcmember.com. You will not be able to book a point reservation until rates are set for 2009. This is usually in August or September. My guess is that this is because point requirements aren't determined until cash rates are set. The point requirements won't necessarily change from 2008. For example, the point requirements for 2008 were the same as those for 2007. The dates associated with some of the seasons changed, however. For example, 2 or 3 days were added on to peak Holiday season in January.
