Reservations for Aloha or HHDR

We are going again in June and wanted to go to the HHDR or the Aloha. We have been to both adn love them. We will probaly be on the DDP (as we always do it and it works great for us since I travel by way of my stomache). My question is, If I make ADR's, I know I need to secure it with my credit card, but will they charge my card when I make the ADR's or just when we get there?

When we did the HHDR in 2007, my SIL made the ADR's and in 2008 we got seating at the Aloha the day before we went.

In 2007 I made ADR's for CRT and they charged my CC that day, but I was orginally not planning on getting the DDP so I do not know if that effected the way it was processed.

I was on the phone with Disney Dining this morning making reservations - the girl told me that if I have the DDP, then they take the credit card for guarantee and only charge it if you don't show or cancel in time. If you show up and use your DDP, then you won't get charged at all.

I did this for CRT yesterday and my card has not yet been charged.

I have a question about Aloha....How was the food?! I am wanting to do a dinner show for our honeymoon but I am undecided?!

It was great. I loved the volcano chocolate deserts. DH liked the all you can drink beer. I think it would be a great honeymoon experience. When we went in October the had all the people celebrating their honeymoon or anniversary stand up and they did a special hula for them.

Rangermom - Just an FYI, if you are going in June you won't be able to make your ADRs until end of Dec or Jan. They are changing their reservation system and right now are only doing ADRs for all restaurants through March. However, they are taking 180 ADRs for CRT and Victoria & Alberts.

The girl told me this morning to try back in Jan to find out when they will be booking for our trip in May.

I would also like to book some ADRs for our June trip, including HDD. So what your saying is that they won't let you make any ADRs until ???? Gosh!!! So frustrating!

Exactly, I thought it was a pain in the butt too since she couldn't give me an exact time to call back. But at least this way I can take some more time to work out a game plan.
