Was going to rent from a DVCer--fell through--long story. Anyway--we were wanting a studio at BWV--I have now found someone to rent from--Problem? Her home resort is BC. I can go with her points at BC and reserve right now or I can wait until the 7 month window opens up (next month I think-still confused on that)--and let her reserve then at BWV. What I liked about the BWV is the location and the pool--thought the slide was cool. We have 2 daughters 6 and 4 (if that matters). What should I do? I have never stayed at either resort--OKW has been where we have stayed in the past. So I have no personal opinion on either--BWV is just what I came across first and what I fell in love with--never looked at BC. We will be going end of Sept/first of Oct--If I waited until the 7 month window opened--do you think BWV will be booked? I was wanting a board walk view--I know they have availabilities right now. How does the 7 month window work? Exactly 7 months to the day of arrival? Thank you so much--I have to get back to her with my decision ASAP. :confused3 :hourglass

Is it cheaper to rent a studio than to stay in a standard room at the BC itself?

Is the DVC member willing to try to move you to BWV at the 7 month point? That would be my recommendation, if the DVC member is willing. So the member would book you at BCV now, and call up 7 months prior to your check-out date to see if there is still availability at BWV. This would be with the understanding that if there isn't availability, then you'd stick with the BCV reservations. It's something I'd be willing to do for a renter, as long as the rest of the arrangements were satisfactory.

yes it is, if you rent from a DVC member.

it is unlikely you can get a standard view with BCV points. so if that is what you are hopping for forget it.

I would go with BCV - it is a pretty great resort. the clown at BWV drives me crazy - but I really like the giant pool at YC/BC - that you get to share....

I would not be upset staying at either BCV or BWV. I rented points and am very happy to be at SSR, I was not able to get BCV or BWV as they are both very hard to get.

BCV has the Stormalong bay mini waterpark with the sand bottom pool your kids will love this. Like being at the beach but at a pool.

Go have U will have a great time at either resort.

I am getting it over half off of the "rack rates". I am wanting a view--I don't want to pay the money and get a view of a tree. To me--that's the magic of it--I can look out of my windows at home and see my "parking lot" and trees. Thank you for the pics! :Pinkbounc

That depends on several factors.

One the price you are paying the member per point. How many points are needed, this varies during the year and are you staying Sunday-Thursday or the weekend too. Points almost double on the weekends.

If BCV is available, have her book it and then attempt to switch to BWV at 7 month window. BTW, the 7 month is 7 months from checkout, or you have to reserve day by day.

Anyway, I'm recommending this because you said you are going end of Sept/first week of October. That is when the Food & Wine Fest begins and all the resorts with easy access to Epcot will book up fast and full. This way you will be assured of a reservation. At that 7 month window everyone who wants Epcot resorts for Food & Wine will start calling and making reservations, even switching from OKW and SSR. Could be a zoo!
